Cannot praise the doctors, practice nurse and receptionists enough here. Caring, accommodating, nothing is ever too much to help you out. If my regular doctor is not available, I know that there is another practitioner to see me and attend to my needs if required. The receptionists are always very busy but they are still friendly, well mannered, professional and always willing to do whatever they can for you.

All the bad reviews are on point. Don't bother with this practise. Staff were rude and unhelpful when I asked to make an appointment with a GP because I am in so much pain that I can't sleep well. They made sure I knew that waiting 3 weeks is nothing in comparison to 6 months....cause that will help with my pain!?
The general practice in Blackheath is great even tho it has a lower rating than this one.

All the doctors are really competent, understanding and great! However, the admin staff have a serious attitude problem, which has been ongoing for several years now based on the reviews.

My experience today - I'm on a pretty high dose medication and I realised I had run out of my script, so I rang to see if I could be fitted in the next couple of days. It's dangerous and not recommended to discontinue this medication, but I didn't mind if I had to wait a couple of days just happy to get seen this week as I know it was my mistake.

A receptionist answered the phone an told me 3 times in 3 different ways how I was supposed to make an appointment 6months in advance of every time my script is refilled and set a reminder on my phone to make sure this never happens again, going on and on about how 'lucky I was to get seen today'. She said 'you should have made an appointment a week before your script runs out' as if I didn't know that!! I was extremely polite and didn't set a rude tone at all, it was completely unsolicited.

Everyone knows you are meant to make an appointment in advance for script refills etc, however sometimes life gets in the way.
People have mental health issues, people are trying to work to survive, people are single mums... The list goes on. Being berated on the phone achieves nothing except making already vulnerable people (who are trying to take charge of their health) feel 10x worse.

It doesn't cost any money to treat people with kindness or respect. Nothing about your receptionist job is so serious that you have to start lecturing patients on how they're irresponsible. Just take a deep breath! If the surgery wasn't able to fit me in the day of ringing, I would have been fine to wait a couple of days - albeit with some pretty terrible side effects.

If I wasn't already a permanent patient of this practice with a good doctor who understands my medical history I would seriously leave over the contempt I always receive from the admin staff.

Dr Harman is a very caring and professional doctor, she always listens to her patients and prescribes and refers as necessary. I've met a couple of the other gps at the practice and they also seem to be nice. Would recommend this practice.

My mum called up to book an appointment to have her Covid vaccine given as she does not drive much these days. They said it would cost $130. When asked why it would be charged as such because the government subsidises the cost, they rudely stated that as she was not a patient there that it would cost her $130.
Disappointing to be charged so much for something that is funded by the government, and takes literally 1 minute to do. I have tried to get appointments there also and told that nothing available for 2 weeks as not a client of the practice.

The admin staff are so rude. Rang up to make an appointment and was lectured about making an appointment earlier. The doctors are really good. But they need to address how there admin staff address patients. They are meant to be caring, but the overall impression is that they could really do without answering any calls or dealing with any patients. I won't be back...

I called to make an appointment for my 8 year old son, the receptionist who was polite said that because he is a new patient, I would have to call back tomorrow at 8.45am which I did. When I called back a receptionist named Bridget answered the phone, she was extremely rude from the beginning of the conversation. When i tried to explain the situation to her, she cut mw off twice without warning to answer other calls, so every time she came back to me, i would start again, the second time she came back she hung up on me, when i called back she said it was a disconnection, which is all fine except her attitude and tone was incredibly condescending. I tried to explain to her that my sons normal Dr. Wasn't opened for another 5 days and we only need his ultrasound results to be explained to us, she said nothing could be done because he was a new patient, despite the receptionist the day before telling us it would be fine as long as we called at 8.45am on the dot which I did. After telling us it couldn't be done, she said to try Springwood Medical Center, she then hung up on me as i was still talking. When I called Springwood Medical Center they also had no available appointments, however the receptionist was a lovely and understanding woman who gave me another solution as to how to get my sons results explained without having to come in. She didnt rush me off the phone, she wasnt rude or condescending, she didnt hang up on me and she was also extremely helpful to a desperate mother who wanted to find out if her son had anything serious. I hope Bridget reads this and understands how her attitude impacts people.

I just saw Dr Emma Mason at this practice and she was superb. Really took the time in getting to know me and went above and beyond with providing education and resources. Definitely would recommend and will return again
