I just had my gallbladder removed yesterday at Lakeview Private. I have anxiety and the nurses were so attentive and so caring. The rooms were also really nice. The food was also really good, I was pleasantly surprised!

I had a very disappointing experience at Lakeview Private Hospital. When my 5 years old daughter was undergoing a procedure, I was asked to leave the hospital overnight by Nurse Tracy and her manager, Gift, despite there being available rooms. I was also informed that the accommodation fee had been charged $995. I had nowhere to go and had to leave in the cold, which was incredibly distressing, especially since I had to drive back to Wollongong the next morning. The lack of compassion for parents in such situations is unacceptable. I expected better care for both my daughter and myself during this challenging time. I cannot recommend this hospital based on my experience.

I had a very poor experience with Lake View Private Hospital. I had my procedure booked within their day surgery, but initially, they had the wrong procedure listed, which is quite dangerous. The staff knew that I had been without water for a long time, under anesthesia, and dehydrated. After a long day, I finished my procedure around 6 PM and asked the nurse if they had called my husband. The nurse assured me that they had, but after 40 minutes, I contacted him myself, only to find out that no one from the hospital had reached out to him.

We don't have family nearby, so my husband was stuck between the kids' activities. The nurse just said "sorry," which was not at all acceptable. The reason given was a change in staff, but this doesn't excuse the fact that other patients' families were contacted on time.

I ended up having to pay for an Uber out of my own pocket while still under anesthesia because I had no other choice. The hospital didn’t bother to arrange a taxi or reimburse the cost, even though it was their fault for not contacting my family in time.

I saw no added benefit in choosing a private hospital, as I paid extra for what should have been better service, but I didn’t receive it at all. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

I had a very poor experience with Lakeview Private Hospital. I recently had sinus surgery as a day patient. When I was in recovery I was never asked or encouraged to empty my bladder and was discharged without this occurring. This is contrary to all other procedures that I have undergone at all other hospitals both private and public. The following day I presented to Westmead Hospital and was diagnosed with Acute Urinary Retention and had to be catheterised and continued ongoing treatment. At no stage during my time at Lakeview was I informed of the possibility of urinary retention occurring, which can be a possibility following a general anaesthetic. On communicating with the hospital to what had happened, I was told "the hospital can't have patients just waiting around", and since it was only nasal surgery and not lower body surgery it was not deemed something to be considered. From my experience I definitely will not ever go to Lakeview Hospital again if this is the level of care that they are providing.

Nursing staff lovely however the wait time post surgery is atrocious. The doctors keep you waiting for ages after the scheduled pick up time to do 'their rounds'. Not sure I would return as private patient and wouldn't recommend.

Was a patient here on the 16.5.24 ,very happy with the care I received . From Checking in to discharging , Pre-op process was easy, after questionnaire completed was shown to a cosy individual waiting room with a comfortable chair and TV, was collected by a lovely Anaesthetic nurse who was very efficient and friendly as was the Anaesthetist. Surgeon was excellent and I had no stress as everything was explained prior to the procedure so I was well informed and he came to see me afterwards. Nursing team in the ward was excellent, rarely had to press a buzzer for anything as they were very attentive, meals were delicious. My recovery went very well and faster than what was expected. Highly recommend being a patient here.

Staying at Lakeview was like staying at a luxurious hotel (that happened to operate on you!). From the moment I checked in, the staff were all so incredibly friendly and caring.

I had a knee reconstruction with Dr Bu Balalla and was extremely impressed with the results. I stayed overnight (check out the incredible view!) and felt so safe. The staff were just so kind and encouraging. Hollie Bauer in the nursing team took such good care of me. If you’re looking for a hospital that actually cares, has great views and top-notch surgeons - this is the hospital for you.
