I am extremely frustrated with my recent experience . I called twice to urgently book an appointment for my toddler, explaining that I just needed a GP to quickly look at a rash in person. I had already spoken with a virtual emergency doctor who advised me to contact the medical center for an in-person appointment, as they typically help with these types of situations. However, the receptionist immediately and quickly said “no” without even bothering to check with the GP or attempt to accommodate us in any way. I was left feeling completely ignored, despite clearly explaining the urgency of the situation.

The GP at this practice is fantastic, and I’ve always had a positive experience with them. However, the receptionist’s immediate refusal and lack of any effort to help or even ask the GP were incredibly disappointing. I felt dismissed and unsupported, especially when you’re trying to get care for your toddler.

As a parent, this kind of response is simply unacceptable. A simple inquiry with the GP could have made a world of difference, but instead, I was met with a quick “no” and no effort to find a solution.

I hope the practice realizes that the receptionist’s role is crucial in providing a helpful and supportive experience for patients, especially when dealing with urgent matters like this.

Dr Andrew Quail is incredibly professional, he is the best GP in North Lakes. He always takes time to meet my needs. Very Polite , Knowledgeable and Helpful. Highly recommended. I have been a patient for 7 years and never received bad service from him or staff . 5 Stars * (Thank You)

Absolutely terrible. I have been going to the same gp since I was a child and will never be returning. I have previously seen a psychologist to confront my struggles with mental health and have recently confided in Lakelands again to discuss further options/concerns relating to learning disorders. My issues were immediately dismissed and invalidated; I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. Dr could tell I was quite nervous and upset but didn’t give a crap. Too busy focusing on shutting me up to get me out the door sooner. Ended up paying $85 for a 10 minute conversation and a referral for nasal spray. How this relates to mental health is beyond me.

I have been a patient of Lakelands Medical Centre for 9 years now & during all of that time I have found the doctors & the reception staff to be incredibly professional, caring & helpful. I am so impressed by the standard of service that over the years I have moved my entire extended family to also be patients here. We are now all very happy patients of Lakelands Medical Centre. We have a regular doctor who is amazing but if he’s away one of the other many doctors sees us & they have all been great. The ladies on reception run a very busy practice but they always do a wonderful & very professional job. So happy I found this wonderful medical practice when we moved to North Lakes 9 years ago. Thank you Lakelands for taking such wonderful care of my family.

Terrible receptionist experience. Booked through the website for my son’s vaccine. Went to check-in on the day only to be told that it was a complete mistake that we were able to make a booking and they had to “squeeze us in”, and repeatedly telling us that this is only a one time occasion. We happened to hear the behind us had also booked online for an appointment, and were told to leave. No apologies for the error in THEIR system, and spoke rudely to my partner. Don’t waste your time there 🙂

We have used this centre since it first opened, which unfortunately means we’ve watched the sharp decline in quality of care and service. Some of the doctors are brilliant, but even they aren’t worth enduring the lack of professionalism that the centre offers overall. The staff at reception are often rude and impatient. They have a strange tendency to speak to older-aged patients as if they’re children. Waiting times can be excessive. I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re time-poor, or need to quickly see a doctor on your lunch break. You can guarantee they’re running at least 20 minutes behind. My last visit was the final straw when I saw the receptionist take a quick break to vape right by the front door of the centre. I frankly find that to be an inappropriate thing to do directly next to the entrance of a medical centre, especially when she had the entire car park to utilise.

I have used this medical centre as have my family for many years. Unfortunately this will no longer continue due to the absolute disregard and disrespect of some reception staff. The doctors at this facility are absolutely amazing and unfortunately are let down by their face of service. My family members and I have all had unfortunate experiences with the reception staff across various occasions now. Today I called reception and was met with a lady named Emma, I had a genuine enquiry that I was quite distressed about and was met with utter disregard and upon voicing my distress I was promptly shut down and was treated to a very sarcastic “have a nice day”. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this centre.

I booked an appointment for a Tuesday visit. On Sunday (2 days before the appointment), I canceled the Tuesday’s appointment and made an appointment for Wednesday visit. The system had confirmed the cancellation. But I received the phone call on Tuesday evening, they told me I missed the appointment which I’ve canceled, and asked me to pay $55 for the no show. How ridiculous.
