What a wonderful experience we had. Receptionist were absolutely fantastic. DR Hendrik Odendaalwas just the best. He is so thorough and genuinely caring. These poor staff members have to put up with sick, cranky people and do it so well. Attending a new medical centre can sometimes be so over whelming and Lake Cathie medical centre made ot so easy. Good job everyone

Neat friendly with an excellent pharmacy. They have an amazing array of caring doctors and what might possibly be the best dentist on the planet. The admin staff are always run off their feet but still find the strength to patiently deal with the most irritable customer. Highly recommended

So incredibly disappointed. After my partner and I and the family attending this clinic for 20 years our Dr is winding up and cutting back his services. My partner has developed a very complex medical condition and simply need a referral with an overview of his medical history and we've been told he can't get an appointment for 6 months. None of the other attending Drs can do it. So what are we supposed to do. Totally left out on a limb. This is absolutely ridiculous

It's great to have a medical centre in Lake Cathie with such a variety of services. I've been seeing Dr Acland for years, now, and she has been wonderful. Dr Deane, too, has been fantastic in removing my never ending skin cancers. The receptionists have always been clear, courteous, understanding and friendly (as have I). All of this also applies to the pharmacy and those working there.

With the ever growing population here, much of it in the "over 55" bracket, of course it is becoming a little more difficult to get an appointment without a long wait time; this is largely the fault of those who want a continually growing population before the infrastructure is ready, rather than the fault of overworked staff, though of course it'd be great if the centre could grow and alleviate the wait times. Likewise the car park is now a little small for the number of patients; not much to be done about that, given the size of the land.

Overall, though, it's a very handy centre and I've had no complaints in my 10 or so years as a patient.

I have been going to the medical centre since it opened with DR Lorraine Evans, and have gradually seen the decline of the practice, and the increase in poor reception staff. The reception staff are incredibly rude. They talk over you, they do not listen, and are also extremely condescending. I have had more than one receptionist get hostile while trying to make a booking or check out after seeing a GP.

The clinic is always over booked, and I have had to wait for nearly an hour numerous times (even when calling ahead to see if the GP is on time). Furthermore, the majority of the GPs are overworked and cannot dedicate enough time to their patients.

The practice may be good for minor medical issues, but anything beyond that has proven to be a challenge. I have emailed the CEO and Clinic manager about these issues and was told it was all my perception. As has been mentioned in another review, the practice claims to be mental health friendly. Well that has definitely not been my experience. From the management down my experience has been invalidated and questioned. I have been nothing but respectful to the reception staff and the doctors. There is no excuse for this egregious behaviour.

The only place worth visiting in the medical centre is the pharmacy, Karen and her staff could not be more helpful.

It is also interesting to see the majority of positive reviews are from at least five years ago. Most reviews also mention how unprofessional the reception staff are. I have never had an issue with reception staff at other medical practices or businesses, but over the last year the treatment of patients by the reception staff has deteriorated. The management, and staff really need to reevaluate how the conduct themselves when interacting with patients.

This medical centre is at the south end of Lake Cathie, in the 50 zone. Is right next to a footpath so can ride a mobility scooter there. Has pharmacy, dentist, physio, pathology and optometry. Too easy

Been going to this medical centre for almost 10 years and my GP (and others) have been excellent in all aspects. Now, i cant even get an appointment to see my GP in under a month, then reception advises me to call back at 8am to hope for a cancellation booking.
A lot of the google replies from LCMC management state its been due to “covid” but covid is long gone……you can call any other medical centre on the MNC and get an appointment on the day

I want to very highly commend the excellent service that Dr Pieter Nieuwoudt and his team has given on behalf of the dental practice. They have been extremely friendly and professional and they are great with kids. Thanks team, you'll definitely see us again.
