I had several of my adopted children tested here a few years ago. They were all very upset as they were being questioned same question randomly throughout as though it were a trick question. Please note not everyone who adopts multiple children are abusers. So if you’ve adopted children this question will be asked numerous times.
Then when my son tested positive for schizophrenia I asked him to be tested for autism. He tested positive but she said she was keeping her diagnosis as schizophrenia and then compared my son to her daughter and her daughter’s behaviors. Very unprofessional. Not saying her daughter is schizophrenia by any means, but she was using different circumstances and comparison. Then she wanted him to see a psychiatrist who normally sees only adults, but was willing to take him as a teenager and was going to try a new drug to see if that would help his diagnosis of schizophrenia. Needless to say we had him retested elsewhere and he tested high on the spectrum for autism and although autistic children can exhibit schizophrenia traits they are not schizophrenic. Today my son is 21 years old, going to college on no medication’s not schizophrenic and is definitely autistic on the high functioning end.
A few years later, we had our daughter tested and in the report that was sent to the counselor it stated that I over reported. Here we are two years later and my daughter is living 100% to what I reported. Psychologists do not know everything and they need to understand that parents know their children very well, especially a parent who raised a child for 18 years, homeschooled, and is with them day in and day out. That’s not called over reporting, but rather knowing your child. And because she said that she had to interpret my responses with caution, my daughter did not receive the care she needed (she was autistic) and is now living a completely different lifestyle with her biological family and on the streets with drugs and alcohol. I don’t know when Psychologist are going to realize that they don’t know it all. After having several children tested here, I question the hidden agendas, and I do not recommend them at all.

Been to 1 appointment only so far. It was introductory, however, it's going better than any appointment I've had in the last 5 years. Very organized, helps me keep my thoughts organized/structured and I do feel heard. I will actually try to update this review after a few more sessions, but so far I'm so happy I found a therapist that meets my needs!

I have weekly to biweekly appointments with Dr. Mcdanal and she is really amazing. She helps with insights and gives great feedback for solving issues. The staff here is very friendly and always remembers who my mom and I are. They try to be as flexible as possible when rescheduling as well. Overall one of the best therapists I’ve had since I was a little girl!

I have been going to Kindelan McDanal & Associates for years. It is such an amazing place. When I first started going I was unsure what to think ; I had never been to a psychologist before and I was nervous and skeptical, but didn't take long for me to realize how helpful everyone was. The office staff is amazing, they are kind and friendly and can accommodate just about any request. I see Dr. McDanal and she has been a lifesaver. She is calm and friendly and patient and kind, and basically the epitome of a great psychologist. I'm not the only person in my family who goes here either: my cousin sees Dr. Allison and regularly praises his good work. My son, who originally struggled with a learning disability now manages his schoolwork impressively, something that I'll never be able to thank Dr. McDanal enough for. This review is mostly for anyone out there who thinks seeing a psychologist will be scary or ineffective or anything like that. If you're nervous about coming to Kindelan Mcdanal & Associates, don't be, I can assure you that they are wonderfully committed to your mental health.

I have been seeing Ms. McDanal for approximately 2 years. She is the only doctor to recognize and correctly diagnose my condition. I won't say the others were incompetent, but it is a surprise to finally get a diagnosis after 30 years in and out of therapy that made total sense and made all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. I felt as if a great burden had been lifted...it was reassuring to finally learn that so many of my odd behaviors were due to my mental disorder and thank God, she finally recognized it so I could get proper care and get my stranger behaviors under control. She was always non-judgemental, compassionate, and I can't thank her enough for catching on to my disorder after all my other doctors had missed it. I highly recommend Ms. McDanal. She's kind, understanding, caring, and an excellent doctor.

I have been going to this office for about 3 years and the office staff is very friendly and excellent. I see Dr. Nickeisha Clarke and she is nothing short of first class. She has been an amazing help in getting me through some of the life events I encounter. I would recommend her to anyone! I read some of the negative comments below surrounding other counselors and my advice to anyone with those issues would be to discuss that with that particular counselor and if a solution cannot be reached, request to see someone else. Not everyone is a good fit. Sometimes you have to try a few. I got lucky with Dr. Clarke.

I have been going to Cynthia McDanal for 4 years now and she is amazing. The facility, the office staff, the entire experience there has been first class. They are highly trained and always welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this practice.
