They've been very helpful in facilitating care & services for our mother. Good communication from staff & wonderful workers. Mum loves her weekly outing!

Just Better Care Have made the most positive, influential change in our lives. The staff are so efficient and clients needs come first in regards to this provider. Just better care are an asset to our society. Genuine empathy with remarkable communication. Nothing is too much for them and the girls in the office are Amazing! My mother has the Best care manager ensuring my mothers needs are met whilst staying in budget. Wether it is respite or domestic all staff are gentle and have a reputable bed side manner. I am an NDIS client with Just Better Care since 2019 & I have a eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa which I was born with genetic & hereditary.
I was unaware of this condition till I was diagnosed at the age of 46.
Shortly after it was a case of finding a retina specialist who I could trust I tried 3 & finally got a wonderful man in Hurstville Dr Downie for 10 years & he has gone on to do more surgeries & I now see his colleague Dr Bhardwaj who comes down to Wollongong to see patients.
I have not had any family talks about my condition as that is not what I am used to it was not recognised.
I got on with my life with no support & then I had to stop driving as I failed my field vision tests.
I have had bouts of depression and anxiety first in my teens & then through my life & with my long term partner with me leaving due to abuse.
I have now in the last 5 years been diagnosed with complex Ptsd by a psychologist.
I have felt very alone until my mother in 2019 when I got admitted to SCP Hospital said she was sorry for not being there.
I then got help from Guide Dogs in
Wollongong to shoe me the benefits for me in using a white cane to manoeuvre my way safely when out.
They told me about NDIS & I got help to apply & be accepted.
I did not have money for a support coordinator at first had a plan manager & chose Just Better Care Illawarra for my support worker help & also another company who applied to get me support coordination which helps me feel calmer navigating with those at
NDIA & someone who is helping with my goals.
I feel so happy to have Just Better Care office staff to talk to who are so kind & caring.
I went through a lot this year losing my Mum Shirley she died over Easter at her home.
I was there with her it was a traumatic time trying to get her morphine & her drug mirtazapine to a point where it was right for Mum & thank goodness she was at peace.
In all of this my support coordinator with another company was doing a plan review with NDIA & they rejected the NDIA worker saying that he is legally blind & he doesn't need these supports & I asked for a complaint to be done however it was never done.
I have my supports now with the help of Just Better Care Illawarra.
Thank you to Rachel the nurse at JBC for her caring phone calls all through Mum's palliative care months & her last weeks in Liverpool Hospital Palliative Care ward & then when Mum was at home the office staff & the support workers who drove up to Glenfield with my extra clothes.
It's been a tough time & I feel so grateful to you all for your kindness caring & patience it takes a lot to do what you do.
