I took my daughter here Thursday evening as she had been unwell since the Monday. Not only was the emergency wait time very minimal. All the nurses/reception staff were extremely helpful and thoughtful, they were also very thorough. Thinking the wait time for the doctor would be long, I set in for a fair wait. But already put to ease by the lovely nurses and their regular checks. However this was not the case. The doc was there to see my daughter extremely quick. He was also very thorough, kind and we were not made to feel rushed or stupid for going or asking questions. Dr Sam B, ordered all the tests needed and was able to help my daughter and ease my concerns. His friendly bed side manner and down to earth personality was extremely welcoming. I would love to pass on my heart felt thank you to him and the lovely nurses, especially the lovely male nurse for engaging with my daughter about his family also having twins. (My daughter is also a twin) It took her mind off things and her worries eased dramatically. Thanks for the awesome service guys. Keep up the great work

I was taken by paramedics who were amazing to Ipswich hospital emergency last Tuesday 22nd April arriving there about 7.30pm. I was extremely ill with vomiting and diahorrea, a massive headache and was dizzy not being able to hardly walk for fear of falling over. After going through triage the paramedics helped me to the bathroom and after that to a chair in emergency. No staff came anywhere near me and after 2 hours I asked when I might see a doctor. I was told there were 4 people ahead of me. Another 4 hours later I was still sitting there. No staff asked or cared how I was. I did ask a nurse about giving me some anti nausea meds but she said it had to be prescribed by a doctor. I eventually made my way to the counter around 1.15am after 6 hours virtually doubled over in a chair as I was that physically ill I could not sit there any longer and asked them to call me a taxi to go home and explained why. No-one was interested or cared and called the taxi for me. No help was offered to me to get outside. I am almost 73 years of age. Also I was left in emergency for all that time which was full of people when I had a very contagious virus which could have been passed onto any of them, especially the most vulnerable. I have been in public hospitals in Brisbane and have nothing but praise for them but Ipswich is a disgrace. Qld Health needs to take responsibility and immediately take action to help this hospital.

Had an amazing birthing experience with my wife.
Everyone we met working while my wife was delivering her child was amazing, the nurses, midwives, doctors, surgeons, anaesthetist‘s were all incredible and we had so much support over our time there.

This hospital is absolutely filthy! My uncle was here for a couple of days not once did the staff taking care of him change his bedding i had to ask multiple times bathrooms were horrendous rubbish over flowing almost always! And don’t get me started on the waiting rooms! This hospital is absolutely disgusting iv actually never seen the place decent! Your staff stand around talking about what they want to do after work In front of the patients rooms! I mean come on Ipswich hospital do bloody better!

Thank you to the team of doctors (Dr.Promanti) & nurses on shift this afternoon/tonight. We rushed in as my daughter had cut her head on the fan and the staff were very professional and lovely. They spoke through all steps of procedures and explained the outcome and aftercare. Very nice experience today-even though we wish we were there for a better situation.

Was referred to the emergency department for immediate attention and waited for 11 hours - miscommunication between ALL nurses. Absolutely no urgency to help me when I was in immense pain and begged nurses for assistance or even just some clarification into what was happening - in response was shrugged off or told to essentially wait my turn.

Was called in to emergency, told I was critical, and about to have a heart attack. Knowing I am on medication to keep my immune system low, I was left sitting in the waiting area for 7 hours. Crowded in a small space. People wandering around spewing. Someone pissed themselves, and the urine was left there for some time. Finally, someone came with a bottle of disinfectant, sprayed a small amount over the urine, and moped it up. Was not cleaned properly.
Nothing is confidential. The nurses tell everyone what everyone's symptoms are.
After seven hours, I decided that enough was enough. I left and saw my GP the next day. What was the start of my holidays. Now I'm as sick as a dog with a chest infection. Total lack of professionalism. Your infectious control team should have a lot to answer for. Honestly, like being in a third-world country, although I do think they could do better. Cranky, upset and disappointed is an understatement.

Phenomenal, for a public hospital, I could not have asked for better care. The wait for non life threatening care took a while sure, but they have to prioritise urgent cases. During my wait, I was tended to in an excellent fashion, no task to small, no request to big. Everything was explained in great detail and was able to use terminology I understood.

Seems like a lot of reviews that give a negative experience are expecting private health levels of service. To those people, if you want 5 start service, go pay 5 star prices, these nurses and doctors are excellent for something I walked away from feeling elated with my experience and not a single dollar out of pocket.

Thank you Ipswich hospital, if I do something that requires a hospital again, I'd be happy to come back.
