I guess it’s not the ED’s fault they are a rural hospital trying to cater to a population of 20,000, but waiting for 6 hours minimum to see a doc or nurse in a 1st world (supposedly) country is a little sad ? the Urgent Care Clinic you are supposed to visit first before you are directed to ED was closed because there was no doctor … even sadder! So the only other option is to see if you can book a Telehealth consult with an out-of-town provider … or travel 1.5 hours to attend an ED at a larger centre.
Australia is no longer the ‘lucky country’!!

We were triaged after 2 hours and four hours later no one waiting had seen a doc, but 3 had decided to try regional hospitals elsewhere … hope they were successful!

We are heading home to try Telehealth…

Fantastic hospitality from staff, and all the people of the town. A great place to work and a great place to come if in need of care. If you are un well or visiting someone unwell the ladies at the womens auxiliary are fantastic and are bound to fill your tummy up with not only food and drink but fill your hearts with love and care.

Bloody hopeless! It seems admin on phones don’t work at weekends? As a result i can’t check on a relative!

Wait 4-5 hours to see the only doctor and have to pay a cut throat emergency fee.
I can't imagine this is the hospital quality in Australia, it's nightmare even worse than Africa hospitals.
I rate 2 stars cause helpful nurses there.

This hospital doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating, after having wait 3 hours for a doctor that wasn’t even there got told to come back in 2 hours time. Came back and got told that the doctor will be a little while and get to me ASAP as I was having very strong abdominal pain, to then find out an hour after that it would be a few hours until I would of gotten seen.
If something is majorly wrong definitely don’t go to Inverell hospital go elsewhere you’ll be waiting for hours and still never have the issue resolved!
