I used this service when my eldest was a toddler 6 years ago and it was great.

Twice now in the last few months I have attempted to book when our young toddlers have deteriorated outside of usual GP hours

A few months ago I called at 6pm as opening to get a text 3 hours later to say that no one would be coming

This evening I made a booking upon advice from a child health nurse and received a text after 45 minutes to say no one will be coming.

I suspect there is no longer a Dr servicing Cairns.

No confirmation of booking until 4hrs later where the text message said they no longer service the area of Cairns. On initial booking when we entered the postcode it accepted as a serviceable area. Tried calling and sending messages to confirm booking prior to the text message and couldn't get a hold of anyone.

Made a booking at 1130pm called at 1230 am to make sure all was good, he said it would be a three hour wait from when originally booked, it's now 6.30am and no phone call, nothing and no doctor has arrived 😭

Fantastic Service a little wait but that was expected during school holidays, so no problem there. Saw my sick son and got a script which was lovely as we are on holidays from vic. Doctors were thorough and great with my son.

Called for my sick brother at 10pm And woman on the phone wasn’t very friendly to start with.. then said the doctor would call to confirm and time. An hour later the doctor contacted me saying he wouldn’t service us and I could re book the following morning with another doctor at 10am. It would have been good if she could have told me straight away that the doctor couldn’t come to us tonight instead of waiting up for an hour just to be told they won’t come.
My mum has used this service before and said the doctors were very good though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So grateful we have this service in Cairns. Our 24hr medical centre is always too busy to take walk-ins and it takes days to get a GP appointment. I made an appointment with the House Call doctor at 6pm, doctor arrived at 9.30pm and, after a quick trip to the chemist, we could start the course of antibiotics that my daughter needed to treat her infection.

Called at around 4am. No doctor available but they offered a Telehealth appointment so I went with that. I only just got an sms confirming my booking it’s almost 6:30pm at night. No offence but I couldn’t wait 12 hours plus for an appointment for my sick baby. Useless.

I called at 10.30am for an appointment for my baby and was told I'd receive a call to advise of a likely ETA. I hadn't heard anything by lunchtime so I called to follow up, and was advised that it would likely be this afternoon, but they couldn't say anything further. I received a call at 2pm advising that there was only one doctor on and they were too busy to come but might be able to fit us in at the end of their shift at 5ish, otherwise there was another doctor starting at 4pm and another at 6pm. I received a text message at 4.50pm advising the current estimation was after 6.30pm. At 6.45pm I received a call saying it would likely be another 2 hours, when I cancelled the booking. As is consistent with the majority of other reviews, my booking was very poorly managed and expectation management in terms of appointment timing was terrible. Had I known it would be at least 10 hours' wait I would have much preferred to wait it out at a 24 hour medical centre. As a concerned parent this was not a nice experience given I was already worried about my baby. I would've expected more from any organisation, but particularly one dealing with sick people seeking medical intervention, if only because it seems a risky business practice to keep sick people waiting for treatment for much longer than they anticipated.
