Caution: If your child had a filling done here, you should check whether they used a white filling or an orange filling!

Here’s my story: My child had a cavity in one of their teeth. First, they suggested using fluoride treatment, and we agreed to it. The doctor did some tooth grinding, which made the side of the tooth bigger. They promised that this would help us remove food more easily. Everything sounded good and reasonable to us. And we DID floss my child’s teeth every night myself.

After 1-2 months, the hole seemed worse, and the gum became red, so we had to take my child back to the clinic. This time, they suggested placing a crown and inserting some rings between the teeth. However, because the hole had become larger due to the first treatment, the ring fell out the very next day.

Once again, I had to take my child back to the clinic for an emergency visit to put the ring back. That night, it fell out again! When I checked it myself, I thought the hole was too big, which made the ring too loose to stay in place. So, once again, I took my child back and told them that the ring had fallen out again.

And guess what? With an attitude suggesting that it was not their fault, they said they would put the ring back one more time, but if it fell out again, my child would need a filling. I told them, "It will fall out again, so please just do the filling with numbing."

After the procedure was done, I specifically asked if my child needed to come back for a follow-up or any additional care. They said NO, and that everything should be fine now. We were very happy that it was finally over.

I checked my child’s filling and saw that it was orange, but I didn’t think much of it—I just assumed it was a color used for baby teeth or something.

Until now… two months later, the filling has fallen out!

I was too exhausted to go back to this clinic, so I went to another one. And shockingly, the new dentist told me that it was a temporary filling!!!

Now, my child has to get numbed again and have the filling done all over again!

When I called for an appointment
Jane was so patient & helpful. Arrived this morning, Jess at reception was friendly & professional. The dentists, Brittany & Prianka, were brilliant! Explained everything, ensured I was ok at all times. I felt comfortable throughout. Thank you!

if there is no stars, I would give to them.On 28/11/24, my 82-year-old mother and I went to healthability Box Hill public dental service. During this trip, I informed the center’s front desk about my mother’s current situation. My mother's age pension application is in the process and her dentures in her lower teeth became completely unusable a week ago, a condition that prevents her from eating anything. I hope they can give my mother meaningful help. The front desk suggested that we can apply for a temporary healthcare card. We immediately applied to centrelink, but were told that there was no such card. Subsequently, I applied for a commonwealth senior health care card.

On 02/12/24, we contacted the center again and informed them that we had just received the Commonwealth senior health care card. We needed to arrange public dental service for my mother ASAP. The front desk repeatedly stated to us that the center does not accept this card.

On 03/12/24, we made complain to the manager Mrs. Phil of the service center about the appeal, but the manager repeatedly clarified to me that the fact I had confirmed was that the senior card and the senior health card were different, and it was not clear whether the senior health card could be used.
In the course of the matter, the experience and opinions of the front desk and manager were consistent, that is, to apply for a temporary health card, the senior health card cannot be used. The manager specifically asked me to bring the physical senior health card to the center to confirm in person whether it can be used.
In this case, the center’s service staff had no work experience and did not know the specific information on the center’s website. Clearly stated on the website
Public Dental Service
You are eligible for public funded dental services if you are:

An adult who holds a healthcare or pensioner concession card.
If staff do not know the policies and specific conditions of their workplace, how can they provide effective services to their clients?

I believe not only me have this issue, we are not trained to know the terms and conditions about healthability service.
But, the staff works at the place where they are well trained and qualified for their job, at least, they should know the basic things.

Dental: Dr Emily is a legend. Particularly because she managed to get my 3 year old to sit in a dentist chair and get an exam. That is something precious. But also cos we been her patients for a while and she's great 😃👍

In the last 2 weeks I have been treated by a student dentist named Wen. I must say that she was such a pleasant young lady, with an excellent chair-side manner. She was also very thorough in her examination and treatment. I must also say the staff at reception have been very welcoming and professional in their approach, especially considering the variety of situations they must handle at the counter.

Terrible patient care and service. Called to make an appointment with the dentist for my little one and was told I need to pay a $40 deposit to secure an appointment as I couldn't come to the last one (an appointment I called and cancelled for as my son had a fever).

Or would the clinic rather me have brought my feverish child to the clinic and infect everyone?

Immediately made an appointment at an alternative paediatric dentist.

Appalling patient treatment.

I came in last week to go to dentist. Before sitting down in the waiting room I was told to put on a mask. Both ladies at reception didn't have one on most of others walking in and out of reception area no masks most of people in waiting room didn't either. Most of the workers walking in from breaks didn't have a mask on. The workers coming out to call patients don't have masks on. People taking up their forms to reception no masks. Get into dentist and the main dentist lady walking around with no mask. Watching other people come in with no mask on but nothing said to them I don't know why I was only targeted to wear a mask
