I booked an appointment on Hot Doc to see Dr Meernal Barwal. She is supposedly a women’s health specialist. When I turned up at the clinic, on approaching the desk to check in. Said Dr came out and I heard her say who is this patient I have never seen her before. Book her with someone else! Apparently her policy is to ONLY see patient, on their first visit, for a long consultation. Why was this not specified on Hot Doc? I was feeling very unwell, had dragged myself in there only to be told I wouldn’t be seen. Where is the duty of care? Very unprofessional and obviously more into the dollar than patient care🤬

I visited this clinic in early January for persistent pain and was referred for pathology tests. At the pathology center, there was an issue with the request, causing delays. I resolved it myself, but others might not have been able to.

Now, nearing the end of February, I haven’t received any follow-up on my results. Concerned, I consulted another doctor who diagnosed a serious infection that could have led to severe complications if untreated. I had to arrange treatment independently, and the clinic was unaware of this, so their lack of follow-up wasn’t because they knew I’d received care elsewhere.

Patients depend on their GPs for timely follow-up. Had I not taken initiative, my condition could have worsened significantly.

I've seen a couple of different doctors at this practice over the years and they have all been great. Dr Doris has been my regular GP for a few years and I can't rate him highly enough. I'm very happy with the care he provides

Practice recommended to me. Heard mostly good things.

Unfortunately for me, one of the receptionists I had to interact with multiple times almost always had a very unpleasant, borderline rude tone/vibe. E.g. I called to book an appointment and ended up feeling like I was inconveniencing them ? As opposed to being a paying client.

My experience with the other receptionists was normal. They were fine. Polite.

I do not feel that my health problems were taken seriously by the GP I saw.

Also, what's with forgetting to send scripts/referrals through ?

Anyway. I do understand that we are all human and no one's perfect.
I just honestly expected better service from a private practice. I've had better experiences with bulk billing practices.

I don't like to leave less than 5 star reviews. But I'm disappointed and also out of pocket.

I'm very happy with the practice, and my doctor there is first rate. He follows through, explains clearly, he doesn't let himself be distracted by things that come up during discussion and he clearly has excellent training.
