I used to be a patient at this centre. Dr. Alice Crowley was/is fantastic for women and pregnancy. Dr. Paul Hingston is also brilliant.
But because of Dr. Alison Maiden, I will never step foot in the building again. I had seen Dr. Maiden several times over the years and never had issues. On this appointment I was 2 weeks into a severe chest infection and it wasn’t getting better. I had been seeing another GP in the clinic, however, they weren’t available that day. I raised one concern, and it was shut down instantly. I mentioned how unwell I still felt; my chest was listened to and I was told I was fine. I had to push for a medical certificate for work. Then she asked me why I was seeing her and not the regular GP. I gave my reason and she informed me that it looked like I was Doctor Shopping. As someone with life long chronic illness and pain issues, I’m very cautious as to who I see and why. For this reason. Doctor Shopping would make it sound as though I’m just after pain killers; which had not been prescribed at all during my bout of chest infections. She made me feel small, dodgy and insignificant. Fast forward to the following week when my daughter was due for immunisations. I was still really unwell, to the point that the clinic’s nurses had me on air and my daughter’s GP tested me for pneumonia and other illnesses. Very clearly not ‘all better’ as Alison had declared. She’s a horrible doctor who has no bedside manner.

Some feedback for the Practice Managers.

Today Health e Medical Centre informed us that there was a 30min delay for our appointment. Running late seems to be totally acceptable and clients expected to do as they're told, since the receptionist showed a really poor attitude when we explained we could not wait for 30 minutes and we were being made to postpone the appointment. How dare we have things to do.

What would have happened if we had been running 30 minutes late?

Why would the receptionist show such a bad attitude towards us due to their poor time keeping? What kind of client service in that? No apology or explanation but instead poor manners and lack of professionalism in response to their own failure to deliver their service.

You might not care about this but it sounds like you need to think about training and managing your people to ensure they deliver this paid service professionally.

The practice is fantastic with some amazing doctors and nurses that do work there, but be cautious which doctor due to our regular doctor being booked out we saw dr modise for the 3rd time. Since he had availability today it was the 3rd bad experience with Dr modise so it will be the last time seeing him.

I went for test results today on bone density scan and was given another blood test form to have more tests in early May. On leaving I was charged $95 as a pensioner. Non pensioner $105.
When I got home at 10.45am I checked on line charges it listed:
Non pensioner $105. Pensioner concession $88.20.
I rang the practice and was told pensioner rates were increased by $6.80. Non pensioner stayed the same $105.
My query is why only pensioner rates were increased. Not good practice.

Receptionist was rude! Saying they don’t have home doctors but website provides different information. Even when asked if I can come and see doctor lady was useless and said without thinking that noone is available.horrible.

Appalling clinic. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this clinic. We all deserve quality health care, and you will not get it here now or ever.

I’m not sure about the other doctors but Dr. Allison Maiden was awful. She cared at the start but then didn’t care at all. I had endless pain issues and no sleep and she said “period pain is part of being a girl, you’re fine”. Well after finding a good doctor, turns out I have endometriosis. When I asked her about it potentially being that she said no without any form of diagnostics or anything. She then spoke badly about my sister saying “she’s 23, she should have moved out of home ages ago” also telling me directly to my face “you answer to me” anyways, wouldn’t recommend her at all. Everyone I know that has seen her has said the same thing. She simply does not care.
All the small problems that I had back then are now major problems because of her. They could have been managed years earlier if she didn’t push it aside and not listen and just tell me I was over reacting 🙂
0/10 doctor.

My experience was not the best. Booked to have my RIGHT ear wax suctioned as per the recommendation on Hearing Australia. Was told to use ear wax drops for 3 days prior to coming in. I did so in the RIGHT EAR as thats what I was expecting to have done. Prior to using the drops my ear felt fine and to me I could hear fine out of it however test results showed I needed to have this ear unblocked. Arrived and nurse started on LEFT ear. I explained I was only expecting RIGHT ear. Told they do both. After have no luck clearing my LEFT ear which does not feel blocked and I can hear perfectly out of, they started on my RIGHT ear. Had a crack for all of 3 minutes before being told that the doctor will try as theres a bit in there. After 10 minutes waiting Doctor popped his head in and pretty much did nothing, didn't look, didn't assess the ear. Told me to come back in 1 week and use drops for the whole week first. Disagreement on amount of drops and type of drops to use between Doctor and Nurse. In the end I left. That was Friday 16th. Its now Wednesday 21st and A. my ear is feels blocked and muffled where before it didn't feel blocked or muffled. The ear is sore like an ear ache now and has been since Friday night. I have been using Ibuprofen since Saturday. I cancelled tomorrow's appointment as to be fair I don't feel this place actually know what they are doing. I have booked elsewhere depending on if this bloody ear pain stops in time for me to put drops in my ear. Thank god they didn't destroy my LEFT ear. THIS is why I don't go to Doctors normally, it always ends in disappointment.
