I have mental health. I came out of the dentist and I saw this place called head to health for mental health so I went to the receptionist to ask what it was all about. She looked at me like I was stupid.
So I said I was just wondering what this place is about and what it has to offer as I've got mental health.
She still kind of gave me a blank stare then gave me a business card for head to health and said if you ring this number they'll be able to tell you all about it.
I think it's pays to give your receptionist some training in dealing with mental health for example she could have at least said oh that's no good. What we do here is such and such and if think this can be of use to you, you can make an appointment.
Anyway, I guess they're not used to people just walking off the street.
Not meaning this as criticism. Just some advice just from the perspective of somebody straight off the street.

They never force you to do anything and never release information without your consent unless you're in/are a serious danger. It's an inviting space and most workers are friendly and understanding, main issue is that it's easy to fall out of touch with them, if you have a depressive episode and can't make two appointments in a row, they'll take you off their lists, and after that you have to go through the whole beginning process again.
Honestly they let you just go in and chill and it's really pleasant and the egg chairs are really nice and they block out sound too.
And if your parents make you go, tell them. They won't make you do it. They'll tell your parents straight up that they will NEVER force you to do anything, and that you must agree to go and see them. And if you need help, don't be afraid to ask them, they know what they're doing, if you need out of somewhere, tell them, they'll help as much as they can.
They're there to help you.

Receptionists are beautiful people and make an effort to remember you by name and make you feel comfortable in the space. This headspace in particular has the best selection of mental health professionals compared to other places I have visited within the Albury/Wodonga area. The only criticism I have is how long it takes to be provided with a councellor after the intake process, but it's worth the wait in my opinion.

Total waste of time and is not a confidential service. You are better off taking your child to a private practuce
