I kept tossing up whether to write this review or not. I too came on here to read the reviews prior to seeing Professor Havas - which seem to be more about the fee structures, rather than anything else.

I spoke to my GP and he assured me he is the best!! I had previously seen Professor Havas a child 20 years ago, when he removed my tonsils.

I guess, I’m writing this to give a somewhat balanced view. Everyone needs to make their own decision as to what’s best for them.

Yes, the fees can be pricey, but we are paying to be seen by a specialist and best in the field. The fees were clearly outlined prior
to booking and upon entering the office. I successfully had surgery for sinus/polyp removal. The procedure was done as outlined and Professor Havas even drew a little picture of its weird shape.

The booking process for surgery and post-op care has been positive. The secretaries are helpful and friendly.

I got a referral to go see Dr Havas to remove some debris from my ear. I had to pay $267 for the appointment and I’m sure I was only in his office for 10min max. He tried digging out the debris (which was very painful) and told me I would have to go to hospital and get local anaesthetic to remove it. His fee for this procedure would be $1500, together with the hospital fee and Anaesthetist it amounted to just under $5000. I was told there is not really another option, this procedure would let me “get back to living my life” yeah… $5000 poorer.

Luckily my husband found Earworx in York street and they just removed it for me for $150. Even less than the ENT consultation fee and it was 100% pain free.

I cannot believe that some specialists make us feel like we have no other alternative and most of us believe what we are told because “they know best”

Please get a second opinion before having to pay thousands of dollars. If you have Ear wax / debris you want removed, please go see the amazing ladies at Earworx.

We deserve better.

Terrible clinic. If I could leave a 0 I would.
Got reffered to this guy for my 3 sons with a tough tie. He spent 30 seconds with each baby, told me that they have a toung tie, which I already knew 3 months ago and said come back in 6 months.
Then had the audacity to charge me $285 for each baby, that's $855 for not even 5 minutes with them.
Got told that they are three different patients and have to pay separately.

Horrible people, horendous attitude for a "specislist", the guy even got angry when I was asking questions.

Don't even know why i went there, he gave us nothing.
Please change if you have been reffered here.

Well, I feel like a fool for not reading all the negative reviews before handing over my hard earned cash. What a complete and utter waste of money for a procedure that failed within a week. Hopefully, someone reads this review, and all the others, before making the same mistake.

Have made an appointment to see another ENT specialist as Dr Havas was a total loss. First we was condescending and robotic and the lack of sterility was a shock. He’s been in the game for too long. Oh and he prescribed me a drug no longer being made. Had to go to a compound chemist to get it made up. Such a waste of time on every level

Dr. Havas used lots of medical term and when I asked him kindly explain in plain English, he told me how about I ask your GP to explain in plain English, furthermore, I was informed 250 for the initial fee, at the checkout, I was asked to pay $500, I got a shock and asked why the price difference. Then I was told he did a endoscopy to see my nose, which I was not aware it was a endoscopy nor did he tell me it would be extra charge. He had Camera in my nose for less than 30 seconds. I thought it was part of my initial appointment, at least he should tell patients that there is a charge for the camera in nose for that 30 second and allow patient to make a decision if they want to pay for it and what they are paying.what if I couldn’t afford it?

I didn’t finish my consultation before I was put to his assistant for pricing of hospital which I was just given informations to go home and read it myself. 10 minutes all together for $500 and I felt I was treated unfairly

Dr Havas once operated on me when I had a sinus issue...Had no problems with his manner or work... then years later I had a throat issue that came up, out of the blue, a month before a 3 week trip to Peru... He and his staff fitted me into his schedule, Dr Havas explained and drew diagrams to explain my issue and surgery needed, and followed me up in a timely manner. He advised me on my status and I flew. No issue. He was fine with me. Will see him again if need be.
