The hab is a very special place for me , the support staff are great , it has all the resources available for anyone to access to help them recover from addiction. Not only did the hab save my life , it help change my life for the better, although it took me a few times, the program taught me if I got honest with myself and the program, as well as the 12 step program, change was possible, and proof that it works exists in the staff and leaders of habitat, the doctors and nurses are fantastic, would recommend it to anyone in need of help with their addiction. Our family member completed the 90 day program & has come home with tools to help him on his journey of recovery as well as a new sense of confidence in himself. It took him a few days to settle in, but he & we are so glad he pushed through & worked hard on his health & recovery. My mental health was 10 times worse when I booked myself out after 10 days !! Most of the staff were good but other patients treated me like an outsider . Why ? I don’t know but I would not recommend this place . I am not the only adelaidian who thinks so . I wish I had done more research .

My loved one was one of the younger members during her stay . The staff were supportive and caring . They were welcoming to our family and very understanding. They held my loved one accountable in regards to following the rules within the community . They have definitely learnt valuable lessons and better ways to manage life . Even though a relapsed happened they were very quickly back on track . I believe what was learnt at Habitat was the reason that they were able to do this. My loved one is now applying for jobs and working on their health . It's not always a smooth ride but I think from our experience as a family you get what your willing to put in . Yes there may be people there for the wrong reason or because they have to be but there are plenty that aren't and want to get well. I'm very thankful to Habitat.
