Big Thanks to the group meetings at Grow SA, I was really struggling to find a place where I could feel comfortable sharing what I was going through and was surprised these guys were here. The group has been so supportive and helped me articulate what I could work on and change bit by bit. So often I've gone into a place and 'dumped' everything and never go back. I love my little weekly group.

As a taxpayer funded NGO Grow SA's main focus is keeping the gravy train going, rather than helping people.
The management structure is unnecessary for the functioning of Grow groups, and Grow for its first several decades was a grass-roots movement organised by volunteers.

It is really intended for people with conditions that require frequent hospitalisation, people who are outside of that category might not find Grow groups to be as helpful.

The founder of Grow was a Priest, so the Grow literature might not resonate with people who aren't strongly Christian.

It is worth checking out even if you have a basic level of functionality and are seeking community, you might be lucky enough to have an established, well run group in your area.
