Dr Van Minnen was fantastic. As a health professional myself, I was highly anxious about having an operation, so having a doctor that made me feel calm and heard throughout the entire process was incredible. He had exceptional bedside manner, validated my pain and was gentle when handling my wrists. I am now 6weeks post op and have no continued pain, my scars are healing perfectly and I am completely satisfied. Costing was great also considering I was self-funded, I would never have imagined it could have been this achievable.

Recently had the base bone in my left thumb removed due to arthritis . Paul fully explained the process , the recovery time and what to expect after surgery . Very happy with my surgery and the recovery time is quicker then I anticipate. Would totally recommend Paul for any hand surgery , which I have . Paul also has a lovely friendly personality. His staff in Darwin are also very nice and welcoming .

Dr Van Minnen is so wonderful. Genuinely caring, knowledgeable and extremely approachable. He made me feel reassured and confident in his ability at all of my appointments. Dr Paul van Minnen is an extremely personable, competent, and professional surgeon. Paul was able to immediately diagnose an historical injury that a chain of previous specialists were unable too. He then recommended a way forward through surgery and follow up care.

The surgery conducted by Paul has been more successful than first discussed, and of note is the precision Paul was able to finish the wounds, making them virtually invisible after a couple of months.

The pre and post surgery care and treatment by Paul and the staff at “Nautilus Orthopaedics, Darwin Private Hospital - GRIP: Hand, Wrist and Reconstructive Surgery”, has been second to none, and it is remarkable that we have such a professional and competent team available in Darwin. I highly recommend. Dr. Paul Van Minnen and his practice are absolutely incredible and knowledgeable. You instinctively know where you injury is at and what your next steps are thanks to his excellent care, curiosity, investigative mind, and willingness to communicate- you Immediately feel at ease knowing you will be well cared for. Other specialists should take note from this doctor on how to use medical expertise to develop rapport with patients so that the message is understood and transmitted to their patients. His staff are friendly and professional too, I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes when waiting to see him. I’m very happy with the outcome of my injury
