Why we chose Gold Coast Private Hospital for the birth of our twins. Our twins were high risk and growth restricted, this could have just been a case of go to Gold Coast University Hospital as these deliveries will be too hard, but Gold Coast Private went out of their way to accommodate and facilitate a safe reassuring environment for us and our babies. As a dad it can be a very different experience just visiting the babies and their beautiful mum in a Hospital but Gold Coast Private Hospital has a policy of allowing boarders to stay in-house which completely changed our experience and for me personally made my journey such a special time to be able to spend quality time with the babies just minutes away. The staff at Gold Coast Private deserve medals and accolades because they all really want to be working at Gold Coast Private and doing the great work they do. This is easy to see with the way they genuinely interact with the babies, the parents and relatives. Our journey and experiences throughout this twins pregnancy was highlighted by our time at Gold Coast Private and particularly our time and interaction with staff at the Special Care Nursery, The nursing unit manager went out of her way to accommodate us at every point making our time at Gold Coast Private truly an experience that felt like we were part of a greater family and again this again added to our beautiful experience. Gold Coast Private Hospital attracts not only great staff but also great Medical Specialists just minutes away if emergencies happen. Why would we recommend Gold Coast Private Hospital? Its an easy answer, because of the beautiful staff and the experience the Hospital provides.

I was an admitted patient on 9th Jan with a 10th Jan discharge at W8 B14.
During my stay I had the most professional and attentive care received by the nursing team, Kudos to Jess, Jeff, Sonny and Hollie.
Jeff even reached out to my husband on whether he brought any food for me and if he needed any food to be heated up as well.
Sonny offered ice cold water to top up by Stanley too!!
I'm not sure why there was such poor and negative reviews on Google but I had the best hospital stay and it was my 1st time in a hospital on the GC as my surgeon Dr A Stabler is based there.
Please convey my heartfelt thanks to the team who took care of me and made my stay feel so comfortable and a home away from home.
The only odd encounters were my Caesar salad dinner order on 9th Jan was changed to beef risoles, soup and cheese platter without my knowledge or approval. How is the kitchen so sure that I can eat beef (some Asians don't). I ordered a caesar salad as I think it will be the easiest meal to eat on my own using a fork with my left hand which I'm not used to doing.
Surprisingly crusty and hot dinner roll! (A 1st for me as usually it's stone cold by the time the staff brings it to your room during meal service). Pity I couldn't eat it as I can't butter or break apart the bread roll with 1 hand. π
The other off situations was the lady who delivered my breakfast on 10th January . She commented in passing since I have already ordered a bircher museli which has milk inside why must I order another milk on the side. She was not very willing to open the milk bottle cap for me as well given that I couldn't use my right hand.
Terribly sorry to add these 2 negatives to the positive experience.

I was admitted to Gold Coast Private Hospital on 29/1/25 and discharged 1/2/25. I was in ICU on 29/1 and part of 30/1 then transferred to a surgical ward. It was quite painful surgery. C4/5 + C5/6 Anterior Cervical Discetomy Bilateral. On departure I reflected on the sub standard care I received. My bed was never changed and I was in the same bed that I had in ICU on day of admission so my bed had never once been made or changed from 29/1 to departure on 1/2. I had no physio although discharge summary said I had it. I was discharged without any instructions. At no time was I asked if I wanted to shower and neither was I offered a shower. I just did it myself despite being a fall risk. I was discharged too soon and currently am being cared for by my GP. I cannot believe the sub standard care I have received. I thought long and hard about writing this but if it makes the hospital improve then it has done the job. I really donβt ever want to be ill and in a situation like this again.

Walked in at 12am (Jan 17th) to enquire from a private hospital because we left the Gold Coast University Hospital after the front reception treating us very badly. But very happy that the treatment and customer service from Gold Coast Private Hospital was night and day compared to the public hospital when we explained our situation and asked for guidance. Their nurse Kate and also the receptionist ladies were very nice ,, we are very grateful for your help !! Thank you!

My 96 year old elderly mother has been in and out of this hospital for the past few years. The only reason we attend is due to the fact that her specialists are there and it is close. In these admissions, things have gone from bad to worse. The level of care is very hit and miss. The food is inedible alot of the time. It is freezing. Twice in the space of 12 months her dentures have been thrown out. I have had to pick up used sharps off the floor of her room, various mediations I have picked up off the floor and in the draws, some staff should not be in their chosen professions. Some staff have been argumentative and blatantly lied. Many private health members don't know where they stand with the current private health disputes and like everything, profits over people are blatantly obvious. I don't want to hear excuses as that just shows a sheer lack of professionalism. I would like to be compensated for a lack of duty of care as having to spend an additional 3 grand on dentures when i just replaced them from the last time is the final straw. And this isn't the half of what has transpired. I have so much more from incorrect medication schedules, wrong meds causing major issues, don't get me started.
Gold Coast Private, you have some good staff, but management and administration leave alot to be desired. ake the concerns of your clients/patients seriously. Profits should not come at the expense of people who entrust their lives in your care.

The medical staff are amazing, friendly and helpful and kind. I was seen very quickly in the Emergency room.In my own room, clean and quiet.
My only complaint is the food. The catering staff are really friendly, its just the food is dreadful. The food here used to be quite passable. I'm definitely not expecting gourmet, it's a hospital after all but something has changed and it's awful.
And worse, they gave me food containing gluten when my chart is marked as a Coeliac

Terrible. Do not go here.
The management are terribly rude.
In intensive care I saw the female nurse manager treat nursing staff absolutely rudely.
The work culture is poor due to the uncaring non supportive manager.
This negative unwelcoming experience was awful to experience.
Do not go here.
Patients not safe.
Recently a newspaper article published the story of a woman who jumped out of the window of the intensive care upper floor window. This is concerning. Makes me think: Unsafe systems. Quality issues.
This hospital has quality issues and concerning problems. π
Yes location is good. Hospital looks nice from outside.
But looks are deceiving.
It is the hospital manager and oppressed broken work culture and unsafe practices and systems that concern me
Beware.
Be β οΈ warned.

6 years ago my mum then 92 had a stroke but it wasn't diagnosed until 2 days later. She was admitted to the emergency department of this hospital.
She stayed in the ICU for 1 day and then into a private room. Except for the food horrible, the nurses where ok, but she only got 2 assisted showers in 6 days.
I had to help her to shower in between.
Now I have to go in for a double hip replacement and I am a bit hesitant, hopefully I can get out quickly. I have been in the Goldcoast University Hospital quite a few times and it was excellent. Unfortunately the waiting times are so long now, so have to go private.
