I don’t typically post reviews, but my experience with Dr. Freiman was incredibly disappointing. I visited the clinic after being referred by another specialist, seeking answers as to why I seem to keep becoming iron deficient (without anaemia) with associated symptoms of fatigue and cognitive issues. Instead, Dr. Freiman dismissed my symptoms, insisting they were "all in my head" and that the iron supplements were just a placebo. He believes I've never been iron deficient and suggested I stop taking blood tests. When I explained that I was taking blood tests ONLY due to persistent symptoms, he was still dismissive and asked very few questions. Working shift work (minimum of 49 hours in a 4 day period), I am no stranger to fatigue and will allow it to continue for longer, just to be certain it's unrelated to sleep.
He compared three blood tests, two of which were taken when I wasn’t symptomatic (for iron deficiency) and dismissed the current one with low iron and a reduced saturation because my ferritin was normal, ignoring the lab’s note that normal ferritin doesn’t rule out reduced iron stores with my concurrently elevated CRP. However, previous blood tests have shown low ferritin (not brought with me) and my GP and specialist wouldn’t have referred me if everything was normal. In a 10 minute session, my entire health history was dismissed and I was essentially told I was making it up and made to feel like a hypochondriac. I’m embarrassed to be part of a healthcare system that tolerates this dismissive behavior. Please listen to your patients. I do not recommend coming to this practice, even though the reception staff were lovely.

Saw Dr Freiman, quick and efficient consult followed up by a minor procedure to further diagnosis. No nonsense and effective. If you're after a gastroenterologist, can recommend

Really unhappy with the visit I had with Dr. Frieman.

First off, if you've been told you have SIBO and want some help with that, he doesn't believe it's a real thing. So heads-up, if this is your concern, just go elsewhere.

Otherwise, he asked me a lot of questions about my medical history, but almost never let me actually finish my sentences to answer them. A few times, he'd ask me a question and start writing before I even *started* answering it! Halfway through, I felt so demoralized by the constant interruptions that I had a hard time answering at all, some part of me felt like, "what's the point?" It was all I could do to squeeze in my main, non-SIBO-related concern at the end (which, by the way, I had tried to bring up when he asked me what brought me there, but he cut me off when I said I had gotten some tests done through a naturopath, saying we'd come back to it, but we never did - at least not til I pushed myself in there to say it).

After hearing my actual biggest concern, he booked me in for an endoscopy. By that time I was in a bit of a fog. I booked it all while in this fog, then cancelled once I had time to think about it. I have another chronic health issue and after research, I found that anaesthetic can be an issue for those with my condition. But after sitting there and being constantly cut off, how in the world could I feel comfortable bringing this up with him?

,To be fair, these other health issues do make me prone to brain fog, and also I'm in counseling for trauma, so this was a *particularly* bad mix for me personally. Nonetheless, the frequent interruptions threw me off-guard a lot, and while he wasn't out-right rude or anything, I definitely didn't feel like he was hearing what I had to say or was considering my concerns very much.

I'm sure he's quite skilled and all, but rest of it left so much to be desired that I really can't recommend him at all.

Dr Freiman is professional and caring. He treated my elderly mother with respect, and his lovely staff were efficient in organising her follow up treatments and appointment.
