Such a great place, it used to be a John Deere warehouse and they transform it to a great food warehouse at the back and a sizeable shop at the front. The shop is just like IGA and it's very organised. Fruit and vegs are free, others have nominal handling fees. They even have pet food and simple household items.
They have meal plan bags where it gives you the recipe and you can collect the ingredients in the shop. Only people refered by NGOs can shop here. The only downside is that the opening hours are short and their focus is on basic food ingredients, so you won't be able to shop for everything in one place.
The staff are great, they are very passionate and responsive.

I visited Foodbank NT to get supplies for the place I volunteer at. While I don’t visit often, I find the affordability helpful when I need to cook in bulk. I purchase the supplies with my own money from both supermarkets and Foodbank to prepare meals that I donate to those in need.

However, during this visit, the manager signalled to his staff at the counter to weigh the fruit and vegetables in my trolley while I was speaking to her. His actions made me feel uncomfortable, almost as though I were being treated like a thief.

As someone who has been struggling with mental health, this experience left me feeling disrespected and isolated. I believe the manager should have communicated directly with me instead of using signals that made me feel intimidated and untrusted.

Kindness and professionalism go a long way. I still support the work Foodbank NT does, and I hope my feedback helps create a more welcoming environment for all customers.

This is a great organisation!! Run by Baptist Care NT, Foodbank allows a process for food (that would otherwise be wasted from stores) to be distributed to non-government organisations/charities/churches to assist the community with affordable food when things are tough. So good! If you have never checked them out, you definitely should (and consider supporting them financially too).
