Fairfield Nursing Home - Fairfield, New South Wales

This nursing home is not pleasant. Some of the staff are nice and know what they are doing. Others just work their shift without a care in the world for the dementia residents. The nurses need training in dementia and how to approach dementia patients. Walking up to them and just grabbing them is not the right approach.
To visit and leave is a nightmare. Waiting ages to get in and out of the home. Because every door is locked. The dietician doesn’t listen. She just follows a guided list of what she wants and not what the resident needs. Suggestions and advise to help nurses are ignored and then they call at ridiculous hours of the night agitated because they can’t do their job or refuse to listen. And this, causes chaos for the family of aggressive dementia loved ones and the loved one. So much more I could mention. But I don’t have all day. If your loved one is here. Visit visit visit them. Because the neglect happens if you don’t. It is dull no outdoors area, only out the front and residents can only go their if the staff can be stuffed to take them. This home needs a lot of work.
