As the physiotherapist onsite I have found the care staff extremely helpful when I require assistance. Additionally the clinical team is highly knowledgeable and assistive when making decisions regarding the residents care. Best of all the maintenance team is always on the ball especially when it comes to supplying the residents with the required equipment.

I felt compelled to share my very negative experience from the perspective of a doctor working at a local emergency department.

A resident was admitted to our department tonight after what seemed like an hypoxic event, with very limited history provided on paper or to the ambulance staff. Our patient has severe dementia, so I rang up Estia Nambour at around 10:45 tonight, a very terse and begrudging nurse answered the phone. She read verbatim in a monotonous and heavily accented voice what was on the entry (two short sentences) prior to calling the ambulance. And when I asked for further clarification and relevant salient clinical information the phone went on prolonged silent, and when I check to see if anyone was still on the line, she replied in a passive aggressive tone “I’ve already told you what I know” , and then hung up the phone on me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited for a return phone call for the next 10 minutes, but this never came.

The entire experience left me incredulous. It is common practice for hospitals to call nursing home for collateral information, especially with elderly patients with cognitive impairment.

I am completely appalled by the level of professionalism, the lack of duty of care and disregard shown the nurse. If this is the kind of behaviour and attitude displayed over the phone, I would hate to imagine what the quality of care and professionalism would be like in person.

Wonderful homely environment staff were extremely helpful made the whole experience so much easier. Was a bit worried at first but once I had the tour met the staff seen the facility and the whole experience i felt a huge relief and know I had made the right decision.

Absolutely delightful experience. Nurses are kind, and they care for the patients every need. Grandfather is well taken care of.

They put the person first and human-connection is at the forefront of everything they do. Heart attacks are serious - the folks at Estia Health truly go out of their way to minimise any distress or confusion.

I would recommend this care facility 100x over. Thank you for looking after our family.

Such an awful facility! My grandfather had a heart huge attack there and instead of calling an ambulance, they waited until morning for the doctor to review him and draw blood. Hardly any staff for their resident ratio. Serious attitude from their managing staff, although some of the nurses have been absolutely lovely. For these reasons, amongst so many others, I would not recommend this place for my dog!
