I recently spent one night at this hospital for elective surgery under Dr. Edward Cooper, and I was very pleased with the care I received. The doctors and nurses were truly amazing—compassionate, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. They made me feel completely at ease and well cared for, almost like I was at home rather than in a hospital. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical care.

She wasn’t able to assist with my query during the initial call, but she took the time to follow up and call me back with the information I needed — something that’s becoming all too rare these days.

I have never had surgery at such a small hospital before. Things of course are different. The rooms a bit dated as is the whole hospital so for a full fee private I would expect it to look a bit better. However the staff ratio was excellent and all the staff are very qualified and helpful. Food was absolutely outstanding! Best food in a hospital ever. Fresh and tasty. Cleaning of rooms could have been done better (I was in 4 nights) and had to request cleaning a few times.

The probably the worst hospital I've ever been to in NSW. The care was really poor. I went in for an elective surgery and from the get go it was unprofessional. My bags were just stuffed into a cupboard with everyone else stuff ... and there was little empathy or kindness shown from the nurses and then anaesthesiologist in the lead up to my surgery . After the surgery was even worse, the nurse I had Conner, did not communicate with me to help ease my pain and anxiety. He just said oh I'm giving you this and that was it. The blonde female nurse after him was really lovely, she really cared. When it was time for me to leave I was very nauseous but still they (another new nurse) would not let my partner through to help me out (other people had one person there to help them out) I could barely walk. NO wheelchair assistance was offered to me. The entire reception area was empty. My partner had to hold me take me down in the lift and get me into the car. I'm never coming back here.

I recently had the privilege of staying at East Sydney Private Hospital, and I cannot express enough how incredible my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for by the amazing team of nurses. Abi, in particular, stood out with her special healing and caring energy—it’s clear that nursing is her calling, and she is truly making a difference in this world.

There was also another nurse whose name, unfortunately, escapes me, but I will never forget her kindness and dedication. She stayed past the end of her shift, prioritizing the needs of the staff and patients. I was absolutely blown away, even telling her to go home as she was changing my bed with fresh sheets after my first shower. Her selflessness and care were remarkable.

Nurses in general are not thanked enough for the hard work they do but incredible ones like these deserve even more praise. Even in situations I felt uncomfortable they reassured me it was their job and everything was going to be okay, no matter the level of help I needed to do basic things. This kind of empathy and kindness makes you feel like you are in the presence of angels and in a time when you need it most.

The hospital itself was immaculate, with clean, modern spaces, and the food was surprisingly amazing! The personalized care I received from such a dedicated team made all the difference in my recovery. I’m forever grateful for the positive experience I can take away from what was initially such an overwhelming and confronting situation.

Thank you, East Sydney Private Hospital, for providing such a wonderful space to heal in. By far, this has been the best hospital experience I’ve ever had, especially compared to other hospital stays over the years. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The hospital is very dated, I expected the quality to be of a higher standard equivalent to other private hospitals in Sydney. My surgeon, Dr Yeo, was great and so were the nurses who gave me excellent care. The anesthetist, Dr Watts, was unnecessarily patronising. Being treated like this was very disappointing and unprofessional when in a vulnerable situation.
