Terrible experience. I needed an urgent blood test. Hospital told me to ask my doctor for a blood test form and I would have to go to QML straight after and they would forward the results to the haematology department at the hospital as I have lymphoma and also had an appointment to have a colonoscopy in 3 days and the haematologist had ordered the blood test be done before my procedure. The receptionist at medical centre said nobody could help me as they were busy. I pleaded with her stating my case and said it would only take 1 to 2 minutes and she could just ask the question between patients and I said I did not want to see a doctor or even talk to one, I just wanted the form but after much pleading she said she would but ended up hanging up on me as I was still talking So I rang the hospital and said I would have to come to the hospital to get the test done. The hospital was gob smacked and they rang the medical centre and managed to get a phone appointment the next day when my doctor called me and he said that his receptionist was a nice person and would not have said and done anything I relayed to him. He was defending the receptionist and obviously didn’t believe me which upset me greatly. If your own doctor cannot give you one maybe two minutes of his time especially considering the urgency of the situation and the tension of the phone call from the doctor being so upsetting then I cannot go back there. I now have no doctor and I have scripts to be filled. I will find a better doctor but in the meantime what am I supposed to do. When I first went to this practice I saw an Iranian doctor who was new and he was great, he ordered many tests and one of those tests detected the cancer. Unfortunately he didn’t stay at this practice and is in practice somewhere in NewFarm I would love to for him to be my doctor. I will make some calls.
