Does not answer the phone or return voicemails. I have been attempting to contact this office, on a Monday and Wednesday per instruction and no one is answering the phone and no one is returning voicemails. I was advised by Maitland private hospital that the office currently has open books. This office has been sent referrals from both my psychologist and GP and absolutely no contact has been made. Apparently if you want a medication review now, everyone just wants to slam you in inpatient treatment for three weeks. This is absolutely appalling treatment of patients

Dr. Robinson has been treating me for my disorder for the past 3 years. I have greatly appreciated his invaluable advice and care.
I admire his insite and knowledge into my illness and the strategies he gives me to improve my daily life. My partner and close friends often comment on my improvement.
I find my 1 hour appointments are vital to my wellbeing.
Also Dr Robinson's receptionist is delightful, refreshing and a breath of fresh air. Thankyou Tara for the chats and making me feel so comfortable before my appointment.
Tara you're a treasure.

I would recommend Dr Robinson to anyone! He is a very nice and very approachable and caring psychiatrist who I have never felt judged by and only cared for. He is always given me very good advice about my problems and is quite insightful into my ADHD disability, which he currently prescribes my medication for and although he does charge, I have realised that he is pretty much a very high and stringent quality psychiatrist who has always treated me with respect as a patient and I am quite happy with his service. Also, his receptionist Tara is a very lovely and friendly person and it's always a pleasure to see him when I need a new script for my meds.
I would also like to say that even though I have a fear of travelling long distance from Cessnock to Newcastle to see Dr. Robinson, firstly, Tara is simply a doll and is a real lady and she always brightens me up by chatting with me, and secondly, Dr. Robinson is very thorough at his job, he has the best lounges to sit on and I have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS about this practice because they treat me like a human being - not just a number. Thank you, Tara and Dr. Robinson, for making me feel at ease.
UPDATE: I would like to add a further thing about Tara and Dr. Robinson, due to the fact that people are complaining about the large fee of cancelling appointments in less than 48 hours. Okay, so Dr Robinson is a private psychiatrist and I have been told who most of the people who make complaints about the cancellation fee are patients who haven't see the doctor yet. The way it goes is I have to travel from Cessnock to Newcastle (which is an hour's travel there and back home), every two months for medication and there has been times in which I am booked in on a certain date, but later on, I need to make my appointments sooner and Tara has told me that she has a list of people who are wanting to get an appointment and if someone does not give Tara enough notice if they wish to cancel, then Tara can't exactly say to those list of patients that she has an available appointment sooner than 48 hours because even I need at least 2 hours notice because like I said, I am travelling from Cessnock to Newcastle. I know that the fee for cancelling and not giving sufficient notice is quite expensive, but in all fairness, I don't agree with those two bad reviews because both Dr Robinson and Tara are one of the most pleasant and nice people to go and see and I would never cancel my appointments and not give sufficient notice. Plus, due to the fact that patients who have booked in to see Dr Robinson for the very first time, the initial consultation has to be longer than what the normal consultations are. If people don't like Tara and Dr. Robinson, then that's up to them, but I would rather be hit with a cancellation fee or simply have to travel an hour to get to this surgery in two months, then to have a no-frills psychiatrist who bulk bills and is not good at his job. I have been a patient of Dr Robinson's for over three years and I am very happy with him. And Tara has really helped me during the time that I have been seeing the doctor for. Thank You, Tara & Dr Robinson for treating me like a human being.

Do not Approach this Clinic for Help in your Mental Health Plan. I booked an. appointment with this Clinic and they did not provide me any information by email text or phone call to remind me of my upcoming appointment. I am Suffering with an undiagnosed mental illness and forgot about my appointment when my phone alarm reminded Me that Morning, I was Unable to afford the cost and In Tears I Left a voice mail in the hope they can change it. When i called I Spoke to Tara who proceeded to Tell me Despite my financial and emotional struggle that I have to pay a $170 cancellation fee (which is more than the consult fee itself) before I see their Psychiatrist.. This triggered a emotional and mental anxiety for me.. She showed no remorse and proceeded to quote their policy despite no one Making me Aware Of it to Begin With.
This clinic is terrible with organising steps to remind clients of Upcoming appointments. Also it is one thing to be professional but another to also be human. She was not kind to me in understanding that they faulted and So should have wavered the fee so they I can Get The help I Need For Myself and For My Family. (as financial hardship is a part of my my stress triggering my condition) It Would be more Understandable If She sent a Email after speaking to me ensuring I Understand that if it happened again there will be a cancellation fee and then sending a kind text at least 48hours beforehand to remind me that my appointment is coming up and Kind reaffirming this idea about cancellation fees Then they have proof that she Made Me Aware but she didn't so she had no proof but still refused to waver the fee. She just hung up on me Because she didn't like hearing The truth.

As a clinic that's suppose to manage mental illnessnesses, I propose you change your strategies because people suffering mental. Illness is known to be forgetful and throwing cancellation fees on people could be the last straw to make a person commit suicide. Luckily I am not suicidal but for many others they are.
People call you for help so be helpful be professional with your policy practices and procedures. Remind people of appointments and treat people with kindness understanding and flexibility according to their current situation.

This clinic is run poorly and just money hungry they don't care about People at all.

Very good doctor, currently in the Defcne Force and am seeing dr Robertson. He does not rush appointments and generally has concern for his patients. I highly recommend him as he is very professional and continues to assist me with my situation.
