If you go to this practice and you have an autoimmune disorder, they do not want you to care for yourself through nutrition. They only want you to take pharmaceutical products. They are against Naturopaths and Nutritionists and will be against you if they find out you take this route. I saw Dr Nicholas Hinds to get pathology tests that are Medicare claimable, like antibodies to test Hashimoto Thyroditis. The request also included zinc, copper and selenium. Dr Hinds stated on the form that the tests were not not covered by Medicare by writing ‘Private/Nil Medicare’ on the pathology form. Because he wrote that, Sullivan Nicolades refused to include the Medicare item numbers on the invoice. This means that Coolum Beach 7 Day Doctors and Sullivan Nicholaides override and control Medicare rules. Medicare was very concerned and did not appreciate what they were doing, but they could not do anything about it and I, as a pensioner, had to pay $165 for something that is covered by Medicare. I submitted a complaint to the Health Ombudsman who would not assist me because my life was not in danger. My livelyhood was, but not my life. Coolum Beach 7 Day Doctors Practice Manager, Mary Cave, insisted that I was misinformed by Medicare, that the decision whether or not a test was bulk-billable was solely up to the doctor.

I didn’t actually go to this centre, but I got stuffed around by my usual doctor… called here in a Friday afternoon looking for appointments … obviously they didn’t have any but I had an absolute MELTDOWN about some health concerns on the phone, the receptionist/girl I spoke to was such an angel and outsourced good advice and I was able to get the help I needed. I can’t remember her name, but she was an absolute angel. Hopefully she sees this! ❤️

Absolutely appalling customer service from a receptionist named 'Penny'. I've been a patient here for years and never been treated so horribly

Emailed in regards to a health matter,
Followed up twice with emails.
So I phoned the practice and the receptionist said that she would let the doctor know I wanted to send emails too, waited a over two weeks and called again only for the reception to tell me we don’t do emails only fax and that she would call me back?
Super unprofessional it’s been over three weeks and there is no way to get information to a doctor unless you book an expensive appointment.

My husband has just had a terrible experience with one of the doctors at this practice. We have just moved here from Brisbane & therefore do not have a regular doctor on the Sunshine Coast so he head here, doesn't he wish he had read the reviews! The doctor was more interested in lecturing him on 'Medicare Fraud' & 'this happening all the time now' & 'I'm the one that's liable' than actually getting to know my husband's medical history or his ongoing symptoms. The moment my husband mentioned he was seeing a nutritionist & had to get ongoing blood tests, the lectures started even though we are well aware of what is covered by Medicare. This doctor could not care less about his patients & clearly only cares about what's in it for him. Would never return or recommend.

If I could give no stars, I absolutely would. I went here because I fell over 2 METRES. Dr. Vogel felt my bones and I almost screamed in pain, then said, ‘you seem fine when I touch the bone.’ I WAS IN TEARS. LITERAL TEARS. HE SAID IT WAS FINE. I’m now crying on the couch unable to walk without screaming, and I don’t have a license so no one can take me to the doctors. They trust his word too much and is saying I’m dramatic. Please fire dr Vogel, he’s absolutely dreadful and I’m never coming back. Never would I think as a local I would shame a place so badly. DO NOT GO HERE!

My daughter was turned away from this surgery as the Dr she was booked in with told her “ I don’t deal with women’s issues “ and sent her out to reschedule. Of course there was no available appointments and she ended up in hospital 2 days needing emergency surgery. Very disappointing as I had been going to this surgery for years with no issues but this one doctors negligence almost cost my daughter her life.

I’m a regular patient here and have been treated by many of the doctors and nurses over the last 20 years and have had numerous interactions with the staff and management. They are all lovely people and have always treated me with care and respect (including a fair few times when Ive come in looking a mess or collapsed on the floor) and I am very grateful for their care. I fully recommend them to any respectful patients looking for a friendly local clinic. Wait times can be quite long as this is a busy centre who take emergencies and walk-ins when they can.
