Look, overall I can’t complain too much because this place was cheap and that was what was important for this trip. However, the pictures online DO NOT match the rooms, my blind was very stiff and it is stained, there’s holes in the wall, the power outlet for the lamp does not work, the bed isn’t very comfy (I like a firm mattress and this is a spring mattress with no topper), the carpets are horribly stained (and not just a little bit, all over the entire place) and the shower has no water pressure.
There’s was a loud banging coming from the room next to me and I could hear everything happening in the rooms around me. I rang reception and explained about the banging and the lady (I didn’t get her name) came up and investigated for me. It was a window and a door left open so that the door or something was banging against the wall. She fixed it relatively promptly, so thanks go for that!
I’ve stayed in some pretty basic places (ie single bed in a converted shipping container with no bathroom) so I don’t always need 5 star luxury, but it’s nice when what is advertised is what you get. That is not the case here.
Room = ok, staff = great, location = great. Be warned if you book this place that it’s pretty cheap both in price and facilities.

First up, we found that the rooms were not as pictured. We had the family rooms, which were very ordinary. The room was cold. It seemed that a window was open, but on inspection, no windows were open. The other bedroom had a TV but we were unable to use it as it had a broken aerial, spoke to a lady & she said she would look into it & see if it can be changed? Unfortunately, she never got back to us, not even to inform us she couldn't change the aerial. The bathroom was like a box room & when u sat on the toilet, your nose just about touched the wall. Very poor planning. As for breakfast, well, it's very unhygienic... everybody used the same butter tub. All condiments were in jars. Instead of being hygienicly, individually little containers. Carpets were old & stained, our rooms door was very hard to get into, door knob wobbly, it looks like it has been a keyless entry, now not working. All in all, I or my family would not rate the hotel or recommend it to anyone. It could be a wonderful historical place & it seems no money has been put back into it. Sad to do this review.

The room was dirty. The lobby, hallways and stairs were filthy. Clean sheets and comfy beds, though doona smelled. TV didn't work. The location was perfect.

This is the second time we have stayed here, we booked the family room. Unfortunately the photos they have online are not quite adequate and don’t show the actual room you’ll be staying in… the room was good the beds very comfortable but king bed was against a wall only allowing for one side to be open to get out of. The bathroom felt like it was in a cupboard having to go to the toilet sideways! It has Netflix but you have to sign into your own account to use it. The kettle does not fit under the tap so you have to fill it by using a cup to pour water in :-/
Overall rather comfortable, the balcony was an added bonus for a big area to go outside too, we were comfortable in the bed which is a rarity staying at motels!

My biggest gripe though would be they don’t have an elevator to get to your room! And they had a huge dog they had tied to the bottom of the stairs which had a go at me whilst we were leaving and it was scary! This shouldn’t be a dog friendly hotel! There is no area for them to be or relieve themselves! If they are going to be dog friendly They should allow a separate area for dogs to be away from customers coming in and out and especially not tied to the main walkway to and from the rooms!!! cause you never know if a dog is friendly or not! I thought it was going to bite me as I came down the stairs!

The place was bit old looked with less facilities, we couldn't get a small pack of tissue around and the WiFi network was not working as the given password never got connected.They didn't mention that you can't park the trailers upon booking ,later they text trailers can't be parked inside while there was no surity of a refund.

Excellent location across the road for the supermarket and easy walk to bowling club for a great meal, good parking. quiet at night( but not road facing rooms) making if great for a good night’s sleep.|The staff on reception are excellent, very attentive, and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely, renovated room and bathroom with all you needed and excellent beds and bedding. Only thing missing is nowhere to hang any clothes. Would not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely stay there again when next in Hay.|

The room was average and your knees hit the opposite wall when sitting on the toilet. What was most alarming was the fact that they allowed a guest to keep a large dog near the main stairs that was aggressive and barking at the guests going up and down the stairs. It was frightening

UNACCEPTABLE
I let the water run on hot for more than an hour straight and it was ice cold (from 7:30 to 10pm)
The lady at the reception told me to let it run for
5-10min and that she and the other rooms had hot water (yep as if I was lying)
She never gave me any solution even though I called her multiple times and texted her the situation and we just didn't get to shower at all In the morning I told her again that we didn't had any hot water and that I was asking for a refund as she never gave me any solutions
She told me that she texted her boss about it and she's been ghosting me since Monday (we are Saturday) also never apologized for the big inconvenience
I sent a message via Booking and the only thing I receive is a default message to give a review on TripAdvisor
That's is absolutely unacceptable to be treated that way
It doesn’t even looked like the pictures, it’s old and everything is breaking apart
The breakfast if not like the pictures too
