I had a visit to emergency and was kept in overnight while the staff took blood, x-rays, ultrasound and fluid from my knee. All test results through before heading home with peace of mind 15 hours after being seen. I could not have been treated better by all staff, and it was obvious to me how well they got on with one another. A hospital that actually has a good feel? Full marks and gratitude from me.

So drive wife into Emergency at 1:30 am and parked car in car park. Took 6 hours to see a doctor. He put us in a room with 2 chairs, no bed and said wait for specialists. By midday I went and saw nurse who told us they didn’t know we were in that room and all specialists have left. Said my wife is asleep in chair and can she get a bed. Moved us to short stay where a new doctor came and I had to explain everything. Said we had arrived at 1:30 and she said oh you have only been here a couple of hours. I said no 1:30 this morning. At 3:30pm after she was discharged I go to my car and find a $97 parking fine. 14 hours to get 2 referrals to specialist and some anti viral tablets!

I have spent quite a bit of time in Coffs hospital over the last 20 yrs. Iam elderly and my stays have included anything from bowel obstruction to major operations and a bout with cancer. I cannot praise the nurses and doctors enough. They do a wonderful job. Some of them work double shifts which can't be easy. My husband was recently in there and asked if they had something for a cough. The nurse went and bought him a packet of cough lollies. He had no money with him to pay her. She said if I can't buy a packet of cough lollies it's a bit tough.
Of course you'll get the occasional nurse who doesn't come up to expectations, but you'll get that anywhere. Thank God for the rest of them.

Having spent this week in the company of well educated professionals and well trained nurses and staff support I can only rate them high
Being new to Coffs Harbour residents in the space of 2 days I myself upon arrival managed to fall off a chair hitting my wrist and head breaking my wrist and the next daythen bitten on my left hand which needed urgent help.
Unsure of our location and in need of doctor who could handle major cardic conditions and diabetes type 1
doctor Brent Coollis from. TMA medical center and clinicalnurse acted without hesitation and prevented a major medical infection and the hospital are treating a brain bleed that could have heen undetected for some time.and disabilitation or fatal
Thank you doctors for your service and due dilligence in handling two very unsure and scared people.

My 78yr old father in law has covid. He can't stand up or sit up and can't feel his hands. The staff in the emergency room made him feel silly for even coming there. Then they left him laying on a bench (because he is too sick to sit up) for 2 hours before he gave up and we drove him home. Poor job Coffs Hospital.

My grandmother was in this hospital. It was touch and go for days and it was believed she might die. As you can imagine our family was very worried and were visiting daily. My mother however doesn't live in town and so was calling the hospital every day to get any updates after the doctor would come at lunch, and to check in with how my grandmother was. She was then made to feel like she needed to stop calling when the nurses complained that her calling every day was annoying and that she was calling too much. My mother was gutted and didn't call again because she was so ashamed and embarrassed. I am absolutely disgusted by this behaviour, to not have an ounce of compassion for someone scared of losing their elderly mother is disgusting. The nurses who said this in the ICU need to take a hard look at themselves and their lives and hope to god they are never in the position where they are worried about their elderly mother/grandmother. Shame on them.

2tb ssd stolen from room inside my bag. Wallet missing not found which was left with staff to secure. I'm told badluck, make a complaint. I'm afraid of crimes and incompetence every time I visit as a patient or a visitor. Very questionable people and practices. Secure everything, record what you can.
