I bought a Philips Dreamstation in 2019 and has been a regular customer for masks and filters. Over the years, I bought at least four masks as they only last about a year for the style I use. However, late last year I found out the Philips Dreamstation has been recalled in 2021due to the deadly foam they use inside, which has caused several people dead in US and hundreds diagnosed with cancer. However, I have never been contacted by this clinic regarding the recall of my machine and I was kept using the deadly machine until late 2023, two years after the recall! I was very angry after I found out the issue, and contacted Philips demanded the reason why they missed me from the recalling process. Philips explained that SLM Sleep Co. Kent Town never registered my product, so my purchase history did not exist in their database. Hence, I did not get contacted.
However, SLM Sleep Co. Kent Town had followed up phone consultations every six-month with me which lasted a couple of years, also, they certainly have my purchase records for the machine, masks and filters. Not only that, SLM Sleep Co. replaced the Dreamstation with some other German made models and stopped selling the old one, as soon as the news broke in 2021. However, they did not bother to contact all the customers they sold the deadly units to. From this point, SLM Sleep Co. Kent Town is a very irresponsible clinic.
For everyone else, who is reading this review, you need to check whether you are still using the old Dreamstation or not, make sure you replace your deadly machine with Philips A.S.A.P.
You will have two options 1. Request a new one with no deadly foam in it (if you still trust Philips) 2. You can demand a refund and buy something better.
Lastly, go on to YouTube, search for Philiphs Dreamstation Recall, you will see how bad the problem is.
