The technicians who assisted me was non English speaking background, not that this is a problem generally except that they had to explain what was required from me for the 24 hours I was being monitored. Their explanation of what I had to fill into the diary provided was not clear and was explained that I would only need to fill in the paper work if “something out of the ordinary” happened, well there was nothing out of the ordinary so I filled in nothing. This was frowned upon by the technician after the 24 hours. Maybe a suggestion for clinpath is to provide paperwork for the patient to read to ensure they get
The best possible information so that the data provided to their dr is as comprehensive as possible. I appreciate that the person may be highly qualified but their explanation of what was required from me was lacking and feel my 24 hour monitoring may not have a complete data picture.

I booked a pregnancy glucose tolerance test a week in advance at Clinpath located in Galway Medical Centre. This test required me to fast for 12 hours beforehand and to stay at the centre for 2 hours (not being able to eat or drink until the test was completed).
Although I pre-booked online, they asked me what test I required and then informed me that they were unprepared and had run out of the glucose drink a couple of days before. They suggested I come back the next day. I work full time and had taken the morning off to attend this appointment so coming back the next day wasn’t an option, plus fasting for the past 12 hours for no reason wasn’t ideal (especially being pregnant). After I asked for them to help me source a free appointment elsewhere they called around and finally found a place. Not once did they apologise for the inconvenience they caused due to their lack of organisation. It should be the bare minimum to call ahead and reschedule if they don’t have the materials required.

I am waiting with my client at Galway avenue medical center from 7.50am and there is no staff come . this is very disappointing for specially elderly people has to go back without blood test done.

No call, no reason for not rocking up, nothing. Don't bother coming here.

Bishal the Technician is absolutely brilliant at his job, other laboratories struggle to draw up any blood from me and both times I have been for a blood test he has found my vein first go and is very friendly
