Today, I visited Dr. Patrick O'Sullivan to discuss a sensitive topic concerning my mental health—something I had been avoiding for quite some time.

I was advised to book a 30-minute "mental health care plan" session, during which I would be referred to further care. However, the experience was the doctor talking "at" me rather than "with" me for nearly 50 minutes, 90/10 ratio. How do you come to understand your patient using this method?

When I tried to ask questions, I was made to feel as though my concerns were irrelevant. The process of my mental health journey was ambiguous, and I was overwhelmed with information and was told I'd need another 1 hour with him.

The final bill was $249, far more than expected for a 30-minute consultation. Even with a Medicare rebate, there was no transparency around the cost to time, so it's difficult to control if a short session unexpectedly turns into a much longer one.

To top it off, he dismissed me with a cold goodbye, leaving me feeling unimportant. I wouldn't recommend this experience.

As a business they are fundamentally unethical. They place their promotional A frame sign directly in front of the tactile pavement markings on the footpath. In other words they deliberately position a dangerous obstacle directly in the path of people with visual disabilities, who may collide with it and hurt themselves on it. I suggest that any healthcare related business that treats people with disability so badly cannot be trusted.

Good service, really friendly staff. And Dr O'Sullivan's seems like a great guy who really cares. He was happy to spend time explaining things to me.

Was supposed to have been seen by Dr Patrick O’Sullivan today at 2:30pm. I arrived at 2:20pm waited for 40 minutes only to be told that the Dr was out shopping and not answering calls. I was advised we can transfer to see another Dr but they weren’t sure when I’d be able to be seen and made no efforts to help given I took time out of work for my appointment. I left a very unsatisfied patient. Will not be going back to Clinicare Fitzroy again.

Very long delays to be seen and non-transparent pricing (I was charged more than what is listed on their website). It also seems to be more geared to injectable cosmetics than actual GP help. With the amount of doctors in the area I wouldn’t go here again.

if you share a spicy brain like some of us this is by far the greatest clinic to visit. Dr Patrick has a wonderful somewhat poetic ability to quantify whats going on. couldn't recommend more highly for anyone with a creative mind.

What a blessing. A doctor who listens, engages and explains. My fears were gently allayed and i felt reassured and peaceful after appointment. Thank you Dr Ovida

I understand you can sometimes run behind schedule, but keeping me waiting for over an hour without any explanation is just aggressively disrespectful. I was the only person in the waiting room for most of the time, sitting patiently.

Perhaps at the 30min or 45min mark, someone could have at least said a quick “sorry but we’re still running behind — shouldn’t be too much longer”. Any kind of acknowledgement of the guy sitting like an idiot and feeling invisible.

Perhaps after an *entire hour* had passed, you might have suggested rescheduling for another time and apologised for already wasting so much of my time? Nope.

Both girls on reception were perfectly happy to just sit there and loudly gossip about their night the whole time, acting like I don’t exist.

Whoever is managing this practice, perhaps you should just put up a sign that says “Shut up and wait, you filthy peasants.”

Great, now I have to find a new GP 🙄
