I waited for over 28 months for a therapist and was offered nothing but zoom groups. I was booted from their system because of their own administrative error sending my mail to a very very old address. I was forced to go to my GP for meds. Then I was expected to wait 2 months to see the most lousy prescriber I’ve seen in recent memory. I’m NEVER but NEVER going back to CSO. Their red tape is WAY too tangled up in knots. If you value your mental health, stay away

The worst place ever. I had to wait almost a year for them to even call me back and the day that they called, i was about to check myself into a hospital because I was so depressed and blacked out the entire year. When I did finally get a therapist, she invalidated me multiple times. And when I told her about my 2 year long binge issue, she told me that she didn’t want to tell me I had it because she’d be offending people who do actually struggle with it. The worst part about my experience, I had jury duty and I asked her to write me a note out of it because of my bad anxiety and she wouldn’t because it wasn’t a severe issue. I later went to jury duty but I didn’t step a foot in the building. Instead, I ended up having a panic attack in the parking lot and cried for 2 hours while sitting in my car. I had then gotten a letter in the mail saying I have to call and get another date or get fined 2,000$. I later told my doctor and she apologized for my horrible experience and wrote my a note for my new jury duty date. My first time in therapy and last. It has been 5 months since I last went and I don’t plan on going again. Don’t go here, I read the reviews on how bad it was and didn’t listen. I regret my choices.

I have gone to crisis services here through CSO, first in Florence and now to the new location in Northampton. The clinicians who worked with me at every step of the way were just incredibly compassionate and understanding of my situation, even though I was obviously in a heightened emotional state. They heard me out completely, helped me choose the best option to get the care I needed, and honestly saved my life. Multiple times now. Thank you so much for everything you do here.

Holly Keilstein used to be my therapist. Sad she no longer works there. She was amazing! Due to my housing situation and my horrible landlord via Patriot Property management company, Im back at CSO. My PTSD, OCD, and bipolar has been triggered. Got court tomorrow and unfortunaty after 2 weeks they have yet to assign me a new therapist. Very disappointing!! I need help during this time. If they dont find me a therapist soon Ill have to go elsewhere! Not a happy camper atm. Boo hiss!

I'm very surprised that this place has such an abundance of negative reviews, although I know that not everyone's experiences are going to be the same. I also keep in mind that things change over time. I am a former client who used to receive substance abuse counseling from here years ago, from an individual named Monica. I can no longer remember her last name, but she was always very professional, friendly, prompt, responsive, & compassionate. You could tell that she genuinely valued her career as a therapist & enjoyed helping others on their road to recovery! She was also LGBTQIA+ friendly. I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help with addiction issues. I do apologize for not having her last name still in my memory. I believe it was around 2017/2018 that I received services from her, so she may no longer be employed by this facility. As far as other factors, the waiting area was always kept clean & quiet, I felt as if my privacy was considered & confident that my mental health conditions (including, though not limited to addiction) were being treated seriously. Scheduling appointments was easy & done at times that fit my schedule. One issue I had that I wasn't happy about (no fault of the clinician!) was that because I lived almost an hour away, she tried to get me free transportation services to/from appointments through my health insurance company, but they declined to provide this for me. Again, not her fault of course. I hope that she still works here, as she was terrific. Very experienced with the disease of addiction & relapse/relapse prevention/recovery, etc...

Never met more friendly and respectful people in mental health care. What they can provide is limited by resources but their attitudes make me feel responsible and more relaxed about taking and staying on my medicine. I wish I could start seeing a therapist but there is a long wait. There are peer support groups in the meantime to help me that they provide.

I had to wait awhile for a therapist after a mental health event, but they did hire a new therapist & I got to see her on her first week there. She has been a godsend, professional, good boundaries, very caring & insightful. Thank you CSO for all that you do.

After an initial eval, I called for three weeks in a row to see about my placement. Each time I was told my call would be returned the next day, it was not. Finally I got a call back and i was told i was placed with a clinician. However on the day of my appointment, i was not in the schedule. I was seen after waiting for 40 minutes. After seeing this clinician steadily for about three months, she announced to me one day that she was leaving the practice and that very appointment was my last appointment with her. She said then it was my responsibility to get a new clinician and gave me the name of someone who works there. I have not received any calls back about this new placement.

When i called to complain about the quality of care, I asked for the administrative office. I was told I had reached that office. I made my verbal complaint, whereupon the receptionist told me in a shabby bored tone they are very busy and could not respond to every request. I said, It is inconsiderate then, to tell me my calls will be returned the next day. She then admitted that I was not speaking to ADMINISTRATION, but the receptionist office where you check in to see an individual therapist. I left three messages for the office manager to speak to her about my concerns. They were never returned. The care provided by CSO is abysmal and negligent. I'm very disappointed.
