We have been to CFIH on two occasions separately with my daughters. The first time (before covid) was very positive and professional and we had a good experience/outcomes with Danika. The second occasion (post covid) was not positive - our sessions were with graduate/student psychologists who were inexperienced, lacked appropriate guidance and mentorship, weren't consistent and were rotated out (at short notice). Although I appreciate professional staff were in very short supply in the industry it would have been better I feel to reduce client intake to meet qualified staff availability vs delivering a sub-standard service at a high cost. It certainly has impacted your reputation and us being able to recommend CFIH to others.

Do not go to this place!!! They are taking advantage of vulnerable people who genuinely need help for eating disorders. It is difficult enough for one to acknowledge and seek help and when they do, they need the right place, and counselling. Sadly, this is not that place at all. They absolutely overcharge, and when you advise them of their wrong doing they do nothing to resolve.
Absolutely appalling and need to be stopped. My advice, do not give them your money, there are some amazing clinicians out there and they won’t charge over $400. For those who have experienced this unethical clinic, go to the ombudsman. Get your money back.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this clinic if you are seeking eating disorder treatment. I had a bad experience at the Sunshine Coast clinic last year and it did more harm than good. The initial assessment fee is also extremely expensive. I have since been receiving treatment at another clinic which has been amazing and made me realise how wrong the treatment here was

Putting such a great emphasis on weight gain is not helpful for people with eating disorders. You should be helping them build a healthy relationship with food and their body which will then help them reach a healthy weight and stop fluctuations. It is clear from the reviews that this method of focusing so heavily on weight gain isn't working for other people.

Haven’t been able to write this review as it makes me so sad.
I came to talk about my disordered eating due to my ADHD as a 16 year old girl. It was fine at first, I discussed that I am my *lowest weight*, but not a bad weight. They understood. Next appointment, I went into the room alone (without my parents), the lady then proceeded to say “how did it make you feel to discover that you have anorexia.”
Like GURL WHAT? I was shaken right to my very core. “Since when” I asked.
We spoke about my normal foods I eat etc, and she just shut down all my thoughts and just said “that’s just your anorexic brain talking….”
This skinny chick continued to say that in order for me to be ‘healthy’ I would need to be 70kg. Excuse me, she said this coming from a less than 60kg woman herself.
Her solution for me was not ethical, not realistic and definitely not effective for my disordered eating - DEFINITELY NOT ANOREXIA. And no, I’m not in stupid denial.
Since leaving the Centre for Integrative Health, I have flourished and have improved my health. And this ‘doctor’ that told me it wouldn’t be possible without following her stated plan (gaining 15kg).
Would not recommend
+ plus this place had terrible parking.

Probably shouldn’t be allowing a provisional psychologist to practice unsupervised for complex cases. Especially in private practice with limited to no training in complex ED treatment. Was so focused on weight and eating and getting me to quit exercise when I was within a health weight range and a high level athlete. Honestly did more harm than good.

Despite the center's reputation for its skilled allied health practitioners and holistic therapy approach, my personal experience was less than satisfactory. I would not say they have applied Trauma-informed practice really well. Because I encountered issues related to transparency and communication concerning consultation fees. Specifically, when I intended to see a psychologist but was directed to a psychiatrist without adequate information or explanation. Additionally, the unexpectedly high fee added to your concerns, and those experience made me feel somewhat taken advantage of.

Not just my experience but several friends, a colleague and apparently other patients of my gp have had negative experiences here with their treatment approach and more, in fact my gp encouraged me to share my experience although I won’t go into detail as it gives me anxiety. But overall I would not recommend this clinic…. Terrible car park. Very expensive. The psychologist I saw did more harm than good. I have had better luck at EDQ, South Brisbane and would recommend it to anyone struggling with an ED and who can’t afford to pay for being retraumatised.

Wasted $390 on a consultation to get an eating disorder plan. The therapist was incompetent and wanted me to come back within a week with the food diary. Eating disorders are psychological… I’m don’t have to go to uni to know that.
