Although unrelated to Centacare FNQ from a customer perspective, I would like to convey my positive impression of two people that work there, anticipating their values align with the broader organisation.
We were walking past their office when my mother beside me took a tumble, hurting her arm. A staff member who witnessed her fall came out to make sure all was OK, graciously ushering us into reception. Her colleague provided us with a complementary water and the time needed to figure out what to do next. I would like to thank both individuals for their considerate actions. They did not need to involve themselves, but chose to. They are both excellent ambassadors for Centacare and the work they do.

Today was my first appointment for counselling at Centacare FNQ and I must say that I felt very comfortable engaging with them. I can see this doing me a lot of good in the future and I am in a good enough place mentally, to be able to work with them properly now.. (Which I have not been in the past.) So here's to the start of something new and working towards growing into a mentally stable version of myself.

Amazing service with fabulous, caring, knowledgeable and highly professional Counsellors. If you have previously had a negative experience with counselling as I had, try this place. They are different. I have seen 2 Counsellors here and they are both fantastic and their assistance is life changing.

Despite being assured I would receive assistance I have just been fobbed off continually since and lied to. NO! My contact at the Womens Centre had not been trying to get in touch with me at all, you fobbed me off yet again with that one. Highly unprofessional and I will be going to a higher authority about this.

Although I know this is not the fault of staff, the transition of aged care assessments to centacare is not being well managed. I am an aged care navigator, and supporting multiple people who have had their assessments either 'lost' or 'transferred' to centacare by the system. I've now been on hold for 40 minutes waiting to speak to someone in the single assessment team to understand where these assessments are at. Our older loved ones are innocent victims of a poorly managed transition to single assessment services. We need to be better than this.
