Didn't think I'd ever be writing a review of a radiology clinic but here we are! The female sonographer was unavailable so I booked with the male for my transvaginal ultrasound. The service by Jeremy was friendly & he made me feel totally comfortable & at ease. I asked him a few questions about his career & he's extremely knowledgeable in diagnostic imaging. The receptionist was lovely & the clinic was clean & hygienic. Highly recommend

I went to Catalyst on Tues morning 06 Sept 22 for a M.R.I. scan on my left knee. My experience with Catalyst, from booking online, submitting my referral and the procedure itself was positive, and I can recommend this practice, for your scanning and X Ray needs.

When I arrived at 8.30am, the friendly receptionist got me to fill out a fairly simple reg form and almost immediately afterwards, the technician took me downstairs for the scans. The technician was friendly, patient and caring. He explained the procedure clearly to me, made sure that I was relaxed and comfortable, with headphones tuned to a local radio station to block out the loud noise of the scanning machine. I felt that I was in good hands. He advised that at any time, I could signal to him via a bell, which I held in my hand, and the scan could be stopped to see what the problem was, and then restarted again. Unlike other technicians I've encountered in the past, this gent did not put the fear of God in me, if I accidentally moved or sneezed or coughed during the procedure. He simply said that that particular section would have to be redone but not the whole scan and in any event one section might only be three minutes. With that in mind, I felt a whole lot better and in the end it all went smoothly with no delays or interruptions. After 20 mins I was done and on my way home. So thanks to the technician and to his assistant at reception, for making this such a seamless and stress-free procedure. And the reports were at my doctor within a day or two, with no delays.

Regarding Costs: I paid $300 out of my own pocket, despite paying a so-called annual “medicare levy” of 2.5% of my taxable income (remember it started off at 1% when Medicare was first introduced in 1983) and thousands of dollars a year for private health insurance. So if you’re a middle class person receiving no govt benefits, and living off your own means, even that hefty combo of pub Medicare and pvt. health insurance is still not enough to cover your essential med expenses. In this instance I paid the entire cost of the scan myself, with no Medicare or private health assistance. No fault of Catalyst, just how the system of socialised medicine works.

I had a worst experience at this centre.
The staff is rude and try to punish you by not giving you appointments and ordering you to call several times to confirm if you are coming. I went in person to book an appointment I was told to call again in the afternoon and on the day of the appointment to confirm that I will come for the appointment. Such mistrust and rudeness and no consideration for the client’s circumstances. Pathetic experience
They keep expired candies beware before picking up candies.

I came here twice for the ultrasound and MRI. I recommend this center a lot. The receptionists are gentle and polite. The doctors are thoughtful, friendly and professional. Equipments are modern. While other radiology centers cannot help me book an appointment urgently, Catalyst always has empty slots, easily to book online and very quick confirmed response via email and phone call. Totally 5+ stars.
