I can highly recommend Brook Medical Centre!
Dr Huq is an absolutely amazing GP who cares greatly for her patients.
I have quite an extensive medical history but nothing is ever too much for her! She is extremely thorough in regards to your health. She will send you for all necessary tests, and extras if they may help. I can not count how many times Dr Huq has been amazing!
She sends you to the best specialists that will help you and will give you all the right antibiotics and creams to heal absolutely anything! She will even refer you to ED at a hospital if necessary!
The patience that Dr Huq has is absolutely extrodianary and her bedside manner is the loveliest I've ever had in a GP.
I was at Maitland Hospital ED the weekend just gone 30th November 2024 and even the Dr's and specialists I seen in ED said that my Dr is amazing and thorough. And they said she's actually saved my life by her thorough consults and by doing an amazing job at diagnosing and sending me for tests and referrals soo promptly
I owe my life to Dr Huq.
The Brook Medical Centre is the luckiest practice in the state to have the best Dr!
Reception are also 100 % amazing at what they do!
Pathology at the rear of the building are friendly and approachable also!
If it wasn't for me switching to Dr Huq 2 years ago from a seperate practice in Muswellbrook I would not be living my best life that I am living now!
High regards to all Brook medical staff and especially Dr Huq!

Terrible doctors surgery! Avoid at all costs. Extremely hard to get into see a doctor. The administration staff think that they are doctors, they are judgy & are unbelievably rude. It’s a struggle for them to crack a smile. They are not helpful at all! I called on a 27/5/23 Saturday morning 9am for pain medication to book a phone consult with the emergency doctor. The girl I spoke to supposedly ‘booked’ me in, I called 2 times to confirm that they were going to call me, she said yes, phone rang perfectly well the whole time, 11:30am hit and the answering machine picked up saying they were closed. Cue generic message saying sorry we are unable to call you for a phone consult as the ‘phone lines are down’. I now have a 5 hr car trip with no pain meds. Absolutely disgusting, the doctors here clearly need to recap their drs duty of care promise.

Pleased with service except 2nd Dr not looking @ my record so asked questions already covered prev visit. My problem & reason do not want to go back is the woke thing on wall of reception---" We acknowledge Aboriginal elders..." bla bla bla"‐-it's racist & divisive. There was a referendum Brooke St Medical--- "No" won.

From out of town but my parents regular doctor surgery. Cannot fault them, took my little boy in to get a check up (called that morning) Dr Daniel was great and the ladies behind the counter very friendly.
A big thank you to the beautiful staff member who dropped off a balloon with a chocolate attached whilst we were seeing the doctor, for my little boy who was adamant he needed a chocolate our whole visit.

Had an appointment for 9:15 this morning, went back to reception at 10:45 only to be told Dr at the hospital and they have changed my appointment and moved me to a different list - I would think they could have informed me of this.....even a text would have sufficed. Eventually left after 11:30 with a teleheath session booked. Got a call from the Dr managing the "emergency list" and it dropped out. Would have thought the Dr would have tried calling again...no I had to call reception and told to stay near my phone. Told I would be the next call. Now past 3pm and still no discussion with a Dr. I deliberately book 3 months in advance to get the first appointment of the day knowing full well that even the first appointment of the day will run late.

Dr Swamy is a fantastic GP....pity that he isnt supported by the administrative and management structures of Brook Medical Centre.

Everytime ive been here ive had to wait 3 hours or more. And theres was 3 individual times i was placed in the wrong waiting room and ended up having to rebook my apointment or having to wait several more hours to be seen by the on-call doctor.
My question is, how in the hell is the other medical centres being shut down in muswellbrook but this inadequately run building is still running? And why would anyone want to keep going there? Id rather travel to singleton, scone or even maitland tbh.

The women in the Pathology are fantastic. Amy at front desk reception is not. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and have a terrible cold which I’m hoping is not the flu and she had a complete attitude problem when I came in to wait for the doctor. Amy is rude and I left the doctors in tears because it’s better for me to be lying in bed comfortable than to be treated like rubbish by some front desk reception with a chip on her shoulder about god knows what. I suggest Amy fixes her attitude.

Also Doctor Trasi is a terrible doctor for post natal care. After my horrific experience where he tried to at 6 weeks PP do a papsmear and then also insert an IUD, would not reccomnded him for any post natal care and felt terribly taken advantage of. I wish I’d known then what I know now about post natal care and my rights and that it shouldn’t have been forced.
