My mum has had in home care with Blue Care Coolum and it was very disappointing. Carers (always changing - you'd never know who was coming) would regularly be many hours early and sometimes many hours late - usually without the consideration of a phone call. Both my mum and I found the attitude at Blue Care very disrespectful - not in terms of being rude on the phone or while at her home - but in terms of their basic understanding of the dignity of another human who has a life - even when they are old. When I've talked to them the story is the same "So many clients and so many staff - hard to manage." There are better options out there - not every in home care service is blind to the fact that the elderly are their clients and a client deserves to have their appointment times met or at least be called when there are issues. I understand there are issues that crop up for carers - my husband is one - however courtesy can prevail in these situations.

I cant imagine most businesses lasting long with a casual approach to appointment times . Maybe the elderly don't make too many demands or are reluctant to say if they're unhappy? I know my mum only said things a few times even though she was unhappy many times.

On the plus side some of the carers were wonderful.

I would just like to compliment the care from two lovely nurses Vanessa and Nicole who have been coming to me each day for a week. Not only are they both professional but CARING. Would not be easy at times but their work is done with a smile and encouragement. Thank you
