Visted a friend today while she waits for a permanent room closer to home. Everything was clean except for the garden area that the dementia residents can walk around. It is discusting and wouldn't hurt for a gardner to come in and clean it up. Residence look out their windows looking at weeds, empty bottles tissues. They need to have the area cleaned up, so disappointed with blue care.

A little upset with this place...I asked for another pillow so someone could sit up and apparently there isn't ANY spare pillows in this place ..not ONE!!!? Doesn't seem to be much staff around, certainly wouldn't be my choice of care home!

Homely, friendly and spotless. Taking wonderful care of a friend of ours here. Visited today for the first time and for some reason I had prepared myself for an 'institutionalised' or hospital-like setting - was therefore surprised at how cosy and congenial the interiors are here. Staff are genuinely caring and smiley and going the extra mile for our friend and his wife. Absolutely wonderful.

This facility took care of my father after a serious health issue that required hospitalization. This was an interim solution while we sought a longer term option. We were very happy with the care provided and Dad's health lifted considerably whilst in their care. Staff are competent and caring. Despite a challenging role that involves regular intake and outtake of patients they did a great job. I'd advise people with loved one's entering these facilities to be respectful and recognise that their loved ones are aging, there is nothing anyone can do to reverse the aging process. Always keep in mind that if you have loved one's in these facilities this is because you are unable or unwilling to provide the care they required. Before you adversely judge the facility and the staff, remember you are quite welcome to take them out of the care and provide the required care in your own home. Aging is not a pleasant process; it's made no better by denigrating those who are prepared to do what you (and your family) are not able/willing to do yourself. Saying you are too busy or any other excuse doesn't cut it. Be grateful that others step up where you will not or cannot.

Great staff and well kept facility.
Building a bit dated and rooms austere, but can add your own touches

This pertains to the GCU Hospital interim wing. Absolutely horrible. Two people I know have been transferred here to fix the lack of space at the main hospital, and both have suffered and health has degraded as a result. Same old complaints, dirty sheets, no daily showers, waiting 30-60 minutes for a response, or none at all. Sitting in wheelchairs for hours on end. Family having to call multiple times to get action. Deflective management (covering their own behinds).
Forceful unfriendly staff. Wounds not taken care of. Avoid at all cost.

Our father had not had a shower for days, sitting in urine, all his urine soaked clothes hanging over a chair. 1 Asian nurse said we can't make them shower, it's your duty of care to look after these people not just stick them in an end room and forget about them & on top of that a very wound up rude Nurse in charge.
Unfortunately for a father due to family dispute his care has been taken out of our hands and put into the care of the state of qld which is doing an appalling job looking after him. Make sure your parents have enduring guardianship in place 🙁
