Townsville was the first stop on our family cruise. Sanctuary was well worth the visit. And the Rangers were exceptional. We got up very close with a Koala, help a baby crocodile and python and fed the kangaroos and wallaby's.

Finally went and visited. Staff were very friendly and Ranger Bas was excellent with his knowledge and making the customer experience great. There is a good range of animals to see and I managed to get some great photos. I even conquered my fear of snakes and held a carpet python. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the region visiting or if you are a local get there and support this great facility.

We have lived in Townsville for a while now and have never been out to the Billabong Sanctuary finally decided to go when some international family stayed with us. And it was actually better than what I had expected,it's a very clean and animal friendly environment with natural habitats.bird ducks and other wildlife are free to come and go as they please. Lots of different animals to see, the crocodile feeding was a good show the size of the massive crocodile was impressive.we had lunch there as well, and it was good value good service. We will definitely be back, in the cooler months

Great sanctuary and experiences.
The sanctuary offers quite a few unique experiences as they have a large crocodile population. In addition, they have plenty of Australian animals such as tree kangaroos, wallabies and kangaroos. Even the very rare tasmanian devils and Cassowary
It's really worth a visit. Every 15/30 minutes they organise free activities for visitors such as crocodile feeding, talks about wombats, snake etc and so on. You could spend a day and not see all of it. The wetland is also a very nice addition.
You can also buy experiences.

Billabong Sanctuary: A Must-Visit for Nature and Wildlife Enthusiasts

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Billabong Sanctuary and found it to be an excellent destination for a day out. The sanctuary offers a well-maintained picnic and BBQ area, perfect for families and groups to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

One of the highlights of the visit was the informative and engaging guide. Their knowledge about the koalas and other animals was impressive, providing valuable insights and making the experience both educational and enjoyable.

The sanctuary is home to some truly remarkable wildlife. I was particularly awestruck by the size of the crocodiles—I've never seen any that large before! It's a fantastic place to bring children to learn about and engage with nature and various animal species.

Although I was disappointed that the selfie sessions with the koalas and snakes were fully booked by the time I arrived, it didn't diminish the overall experience. I highly recommend booking these activities in advance to avoid missing out.

Overall, Billabong Sanctuary is a wonderful place to visit, and I look forward to returning with my parents and friends in the near future. For better insight, I have attached some of the pictures and clips I took during the visit.

Well done to this sanctuary on their community information / involvement.

Conservation is a huge thing for our family, and this park was one of the best we have attended to.

Loved the talks / shows throughout the day, plenty on insightful information. I appreciated the Croc safety talks for the tourists the most.

Our daughter was a huge fan of the friendly river turtles that came in for food.

Well done to everyone for creating the perfect little sanctuary.
