I've been a long-time patient at Belair Medical Clinic, but unfortunately, I’ll be seeking care elsewhere due to the increasingly high costs. While they are upfront about being a non–bulk billing clinic, their gap fees are significantly higher than other GPs in the area — even when only seeing a registrar-level doctor. I was recently charged over $63 out-of-pocket for a two-minute phone call just to discuss results I could have interpreted myself. This was on top of the original consultation fee.

This pricing model is discouraging people from seeking GP care, which is deeply concerning.

Additionally, I’ve found the reception staff to be cold and at times quite rude. On the occasions I've raised concerns, I was told the matter would be passed on to the practice manager — but I never received any follow-up.

Unless you have a specific GP here that you regularly see and trust, I would recommend looking elsewhere for more affordable and patient-centered GP clinic.

I would like to commend Dr Bang Nguyen on always being so thorough, professional and caring. She is an amazing Doctor and I would recommend her to anyone.

This Belair Medical Centre was actually recommended to us for care of our baby. Administration and some of the doctors are extremely rude with attitude. I’ve left crying twice this year and literally tried to book in our 1 year jabs for our baby and the receptionist was so horrible and rude I hung up on her!
Why pay big money for healthcare when they treat you so poorly? I’ll be booking somewhere else.
Previously, I asked for an appointment for my baby and for myself and they forgot about me entirely.
The doctor had attitude and was visibly frustrated when I asked for my test results because apparently I didn’t book an appointment even though I had asked for one after my baby. I cried in the car!

I’ve been coming here since Dr Shimmin moved practices. She has been the best GP I have ever found, and have had great outcomes with her over the past many years. She is one of the first GP’s that I truly felt cared about my concerns, listened and acted on them- and I’m return seeing outcomes.
I have also seen several other GP’s at this clinic, Dr Witt, Dr Nguyen, and Dr Harvey and have had great interactions and outcomes from all. I honestly can’t fault anyone here, they are fantastic doctors and would see any of them.

All the Doctors I’ve seen here are warm and kind. They have a great range of skills, and truly listen to your concerns. They all treat you like a person- unlike previous bad experiences where I was presumed paranoid and often felt dismissed by doctors.

I am so thankful for this practice of amazing Doctors, I always feel listened to and respected as a patient. I will forever be recommending this practice 🙂

I’ve been a patient of Dr Brada Shimmin for years and I followed her to Belair Medical practice because she is truly such a fantastic GP, you couldn’t ask for a better doctor.

However, the service I receive at Belair Medical from the administrative staff is absolutely appalling. Every single time I interact with the reception staff I am left feeling belittled and upset. When you walk in the practice they rarely greet you, they are dismissive and lack common courtesy or communication skills. I actively avoid booking here unless absolutely necessary to see Dr Brada almost, solely due to the admin staff behaviour; I have left in tears multiple times.

Not only are the staff awful to deal with but the pricing for services are ludicrous. Understandably, overheads for Drs and practices will have increased and the cost of living has gone up significantly for everyone in recent times so costs may need to increase. But charging $95 for a phone consult that verbally lasts less than 5 minutes does not align with the service provided. In this case, I had to get an emergency script (they were able to fit me in, they are very flexible with their times when needed which to be fair is a huge plus for medical services) with a Dr that had not seen me before so whilst the call was only 5 minutes they would of had to look back at my history and then of course prescribe my medication. Regardless, this is not $95 worth of service, I just cannot justify this pricing.

I myself am a medical receptionist, I have worked for years in the field and I cannot fathom the behaviour of their staff or the pricing of their services. Whilst I adore Dr Brada and she has helped me immensely in many unfortunate pickles, I would not recommend this practice.

I have 2 young children and living in the hills they seem to be sick quite a lot. Belair Medical ALWAYS tries to fit them in as a priority and i always seem to have an appointment for them at the last minute....a godsend! If you have small children, i highly recommend Fleur, Briony or Emily (being mums themselves they have a great deal of compassion for the children). The only thing is the disjointedness with the 2 locations and remembering which centre to go to. I have tried other medical centres in the hills and keep coming back to this one 🙂

This practice is a great little gem in the hills 🙂 We have only just started coming here recently after our old doctor's surgery has all but dissolved.
And it has been the best decision yet!

Firstly you are never waiting endlessly for a doctor to see you. Online booking is a great service but the receptionist Mary-ann is lovely too 🙂

I have only seen Dr Jane Asteriadis and she is a lovely, warm, caring and professional doctor. I am actually starting to get the bottom of long standing illnesses for the first time.

I would recommend this practice to anyone in Belair or neighbouring areas 🙂
