I have been a patient at Balance for more than six years. I have always had very postives experiences and the reception team are always friendly and courteous. I currently see Dr Lilian who is very thorough and has a broad knowledge on many medical issues. Dr Oday is also a very good doctor who is supportive and takes the time to listen. Thank you Balance Springwood for such a great service in the local community.

This place has one of the NICEST receptionist teams in the mountains if that matters to you! They're really helpful and flexible with appointments which is great when trying to fit it around work.

This practice doesn't automatically bulk bill everyone , so go on a weekday so you can get the lower fees. A standard consult is $85.00 and you get around $40 back on medicare which is pretty good and in my opinion worth paying since all the doctors and receptionists are so nice.

They bulk bill concession cards including low income health care cards, just make sure to notify the receptionist that you have one so they charge you the correct amount.

Lastly, a compliment to Dr Oday Rafoka. I don't normally see male doctors but he had a spare appointment and was really lovely and listened to me amazingly! He didn't judge me for wanting to taper off my medication and was happy to help facilitate:))

I have to share my experience to stop this happening to anyone else. I’ve had not one but two bad experiences & with two different doctors at this practice. First was when Dr sent me to emergency for my son, we waited 12 hours for hospital to say that we shouldn’t have been sent to them and just give us antibiotics which the doctor could have done. Now the second time I’ve gone for myself and was told I had tonsillitis. After the antibiotics for myself had ended I went back as I still wasn’t well & was told I still had tonsillitis and got given a repeat of antibiotics. After another week of still not being well I’ve gone to another doctors who have actually looked into it with swobs & blood tests and it’s come back that I’ve got Mycoplasma pneumonia. When I returned for the second time the doctor should have taken me more seriously and done these tests not just said that I’ve still got tonsillitis and sent me on my way. I feel like the doctor didn’t take me seriously because I said I was breast feeding my son therefore she said I have just caught it worse as I’d have a low immunity, yes this is true but doesn’t mean that you don’t do the proper tests when I’m returning saying I’m still sick.

One of the nicest places I have ever been. As a young person who has been turned over by medical proffesionals for "mental health issues" that have nothing to do with my core issues, this place, environmentally speaking, staff wise, and Dr wise, is amazing. The front desk is always so warm and welcoming, and all drs even nurse staff in there are ridiculously kind and patient. I felt listened to and greatly cared for by everyone there, and I feel like I finally have the support I need to get ontop of my medical and mental health.

I have been seeing Dr DeSilva since I was 5 weeks pregnant (now 13). I’ve had terrible morning sickness and she has prescribed me Maxilon to control my nausea. Dr DeSilva is amazing (she only works Saturdays), but this clinic is trash. Every time I call, I wait 10+ minutes to speak with someone. The reception staff lost my hospital referral 3 times! I had to ring and chase them to send a bloody fax so I could be admitted! On top of that, I need to have my script renewed every 2.5 weeks and Dr De Silva usually sends me escripts at no charge due to the frequency I need them. I rang yesterday (Saturday) to speak with Dr De Silva to renew my script and no one answered. I rang today (Sunday) and was promised a no-charge telehealth appointment. I got a call back 2 hours later and was told it had to be in-person and there would be a $125 charge. Then to cancel it, would be considered a no-show and there would be a $125 penalty placed on my account and I was unable to return to the clinic until it was paid. I felt a bit blackmailed considering they know if I don’t take these tablets I’m bed-bound. I’m so angry. That’s how you treat pregnant women? That’s how you treat ANY patient? Heartless clinic. Don’t actually want to help people. Have management call me.

Staff and Drs are wonderful ....My son collapsed and I was a wreck, the girls from reception
and the nurses looked after us with such compassion and dr Alex was Amazing calling an Ambulance and looking after my son until paramedics arrived we love this practice and lucky to have such a wonderful medical centre.

I just had to jump on here and leave a stellar review. My husband and I saw Dr Nimna De Silva today. We were seen right on time. Dr De Silva was so thorough as she took each of our histories and requested tests. You can tell she goes the extra mile for her patients. So relieved to have found a lovely doctor in the area ?

Charged high gap fees for average clinical experience. Changed to other local clinic with bulk billing where I was diagnosed as diabetic in 1st visit. Missed over 2 years at Balance.
