A WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL PATIENTS.
Having many complex chronic health issues, while also living & working all over Australia for the last 30 years, I have been able to experience many different hospitals. After repeatedly trying to get conclusive treatment in many different departments of the BRHS, I can honestly to say this is undoubtedly the most dysfunctional & incompetent hospital I've ever experienced in Australia.

You know the problems must be extremely serious, when their own staff, including visiting specialists, regularly warn you about how bad it is. Here is just one example; on my last visit I had an ER Regisrar Dr. tell me "next time these symptoms occur, I strongly advise you to find a way to get to Sale or even Traralgon, you'll get much better treatment there".

If you've broken a bone or anything common and simple you may be fine. But for anything more complex please make the effort to go somewhere else.

Bairnsdale hospital, Has got to be one of the best hospitals That I have Ever stayed in. Their systems were advanced
Staff from The person cleaning the floors to the Doctors And everyone inbetween Did their job to the best of their abilities, which excelled my expectations. I’m incredibly grateful for all the help I got, I’m convinced they saved my life.

People running around looking busy but ask for the toilet and they're nowhere to be found. Oh, yes chatting in the passage way. If you're really sick hopefully you can make it to a Melbourne hospital as this place is only any good for split toenails and dandruff at a push. My dad was in there post knee surgery and sent to the rehab unit. They were going to discharge him home with NO supports. I had to make the PAC referral myself! I also had to suggest a pressure mat for the floor, what has happened to care these days?
Also the worst of all.......I went in to visit him and he'd changed rooms. When you're worried about a loved one and go into their room and they're not there and someone else is in that bed, it can be quite a fright, where are they? are they alive? transferred? I mentioned this to the charge nurse and they said we don't have your contact details on file to call. So I went straight up to the ward clerk and kindly asked them to check they have my mobile on file? Of course they had it. What a liar!.....the N.O.K should always be notified of room changes and any major changes. They can put you on speaker phone, it's part of their duty to keep family (N.O.K) informed, part of discharge planning. Very disappointed in this place.

Got metal in my eye. Of course it was a public holiday. Turned up not in a good state. Quick service, great skills, very professional. If it would be a restaurant, I certainly would look forward to going back. Thank you!

I want to say how great this hospital is. I presented with chest pains was looked after very quickly on a busy period . Thankfully some one in ER decided I needed a CT scan., From this other issues were found and processes escalated. All the staff involved from the ER to the nurses and the Specialists were brilliant.compassionate and professional. I really believe that this hospital and it’s personal are greatly underrated and unappreciated.
