The Babinda hospital has long been a nursing home that is very limited in what services can be supplied and extremely short on staff. They refuse to deliver baby's and if your local and the innisfail hospital isn't much better. It's concerning that 2 hospitals cannot and will not provide a service that they are supposed to be able to deliver.

During my travel around Australia I had a medical emergency one night and was advised to go to the Babinda Hospital for treatment. I did. From the moment I arrived up to the point of discharge three days later, I was given nothing less than excellent care. The doctor in charge and all nursing, kitchen and cleaning staff are such a happy yet caring bunch and they made me feel right at home.
