I was waiting a surgery date for a torn meniscus when Josh Porta came to my office to undertake an ergonomic chair assessment.
He noticed me limping, asked what was wrong and then explained to me that surgery might not be the best option at this time, given my age and circumstances and that maybe I could strengthen my knee to a point where a surgery might not be required.
I was not really convinced by this as I have visited numerous physiotherapists in the past for other injuries and have always thought of them as being an overpriced necessity that produced little in the way of positive results.
Josh started me on a stretching and strengthening program and over the period of a few months he steadily increased the variety and difficulty of the exercises.
Although I still get some occasional discomfort from my knee the improvement in terms of stability and pain has been quite dramatic, to the point where I am strongly considering not undergoing surgery.
Josh has provided great advice and direction with regards the rehabilitation of my knee and also has a very calm and reassuring demeanour.
My experience with both Josh and the girls in reception at Axis has been a very positive one and I would be more than happy to refer anyone in need of a good physio to them.
