Can't comment on their service as there is none, to be told all books are closed is appalling. If you are not a medical patient then you cannot access the dental clinic.... what a joke. No wonder people die, become really ill and commit suicide etc. I thought this service was to help aboriginal people who are less fortunate and can't afford to see a gp in a private pratice. Receptionist had no compassion and just kept saying sorry. Not her fault but maybe a referral somewhere else or suggestions could help.

Couldn't be happier. nothing but a wonderful experience from the team. Receptionists are nothing but kind and welcoming, they had forms and everything prepared, they were quick. i didnt have to wait around for an hour and even got to talk to the fantastic Manager there who was very helpful and asked me the right questions to get me the help i need. All Staff i met were LGBTQ friendly asking my preferred name and pronouns. i dont ever write reviews but this was bloody fantastic. couldnt have been happier with the service i received today. good job to the team there ?

There is some good doctors here that go above and beyond however majority have minimised my medical concerns and made me feel crazy. I live with a chronic condition and had already undergone testing to determine whether it was that condition. I moved clinics to a closer one due to moving house and had to undergo the same testing after my doctor told me that there was no way I had EDS because he had never come across someone with it. I had been waiting a year for a rheumatologist through the clinic and put back on the list after not hearing anything. I have called countless times and gotten the answer “she is supposed to come monthly but hasn’t showed up so there is no way of telling when” so I’m left to crawl around my house from lack of supports. Have expressed my need to get checked for endo and that ultrasounds will not show it up. So he sent me for another ultrasound instead of key hole surgery.
My daughter has enlarged tonsils and I was told she had been put in to see an ENT called the hospital as it’s been a couple of years just to find out she had never been referred through.

About six weeks ago I changed my medical provider to Awabakal in part because the practice admin at my previous GP was so poor.

At Awabakal it's even worse.

They sent me for urgent tests and promised to get back to me for an appointment to discuss them, but didn't.

They instructed me to expect calls that never arrived then claimed to have tried to get through but failed. There's nothing wrong with my phone and no record of them trying to call me.

When I offered an alternative number, carefully enunciated it and got the receptionist to read it back to me they still claimed to be unable to get through. I eventually discovered they'd entered an incorrect number onto their records.

After being put on hold for a long time to talk to a nurse I'd been trying to speak to for over a week I was alerted to an incoming call so hung up to receive it. It was the nurse (finally) trying to contact me. If I'd followed the instructions reception gave me and stayed on the line the nurse would have AGAIN recorded that she'd tried to call me and couldn't get through.

So I've now been waiting over a month for test results I was told were urgent and took over a week to get vital prescriptions phoned through to a pharmacy after being told I'd have to wait over three weeks for a routine GP appointment.

I'm now looking for another medical provider.

Postscript: Well, they finally phoned through prescriptions I've been trying to get for ten days. The wrong ones. I've now run out of my blood pressure medication and have no prescription to get more. I do, however, have a prescription for a COPD medication I only used once - about three years ago - and discontinued within two weeks due to side-effects. I've never once asked them to prescribe it for me.

'Incompetence' doesn't begin to describe what I've been subjected to during my short time as an Awabakal patient.
These people are dangerous.

PPS: Two weeks ago I told Awabakal I'd no longer need their services and cancelled all further appointments.

Yesterday they rang to confirm my appointment for today. I cancelled again and reminded them to also cancel the transport arrangements to get me there.

Today a Uber turned up to take me to my cancelled appointment.

Unbelievable way to run ANY organisation, much less a medical service.

The male staff member that spoke to us was honestly quite rude, cold and unhelpful. They seemed like they couldn't wait to hurry us out and we still are yet to receive a call back as we were advised would occur. It has been three weeks and I'm going to have to reluctantly, follow up.
