Great experience during my first pregnancy. Well informed about appointments and pregnancy related info by admin staff of avonlea clinic and Dr. Anne. Admin takes care of admission and epidural which was so convenient. Dr. Anne is one of the great doctor I met in my life. She took care of me and my anxiety was totally gone as I was always well informed about my health and my baby's growth. She is definitely a highly experienced obstetrician. She doesnt rush patients and give plenty of time to ask questions which is the best thing I love about her. My first pregnancy journey was great because of her and I will go back to her for my second child for sure. She even took care of me when I was diagnosed with mastitis. Thanks for the superior quality care Dr Anne.

I don't traditionally leave Google reviews, But I felt compelled to share my families experience with Avonlea and in particular Dr Marilla Druitt.

Dr Marilla met my wife during the later stages of her first pregnancy and immediately connected with Marilla and knew that if we were to have a second child we would go through the Avonlea Clinic and Marilla directly.

Unfortunately for my wife and I, her first pregnancy was a real battle and issues arose throughout that we could never seem to get a handle on.

When several miscarriages followed, we connected with Marilla again and she was instantly a support to us through an extremely difficult time. My wife became pregnant with our now son, and Marilla helped us through what became an extremely difficult pregnancy with several complications. The entire Avonlea clinic supported us no matter how many times we needed it. Marilla constantly was in our corner and saw my wife and I as often an necessary. I struggle to think how we would've handled this without Marilla and would recommend her to anyone and everyone who'd listen.

Our pregnancy journey concluded with Marilla moving everything around to accommodate an earlier birth than planned for the health of my wife, and we couldn't be more happy with our new baby and complete family.

We thank the entire Avonlea team and Marilla in particular for providing an amazing service, they have helped us more than they will probably know. If you are considering Avonlea and shared OB care then we couldn't recommended this group of OBs more highly, they really were incredible.

Anne has delivered both of my bubs and she is the most caring, down to earth, and intelligent woman who makes you feel completely supported and is passionate about all things women's health. In fact it feels more like visiting my mum than an obstetrician office because all these things can be so sensitive. The office staff and other staff at the clinic who I've seen on occasion are also wonderful! Not enough stars here to describe my experience!

Avonlea and Dr Tony have looked after me through my first pregnancy and now my second. Their service is amazing and I have felt very confident in their care. The staff are very friendly and never made me feel silly for calling to ask questions or when I had concerns. Dr Tony is my doctor and, he is an incredibly kind, calm, respectful, and knowledgeable doctor (He really knows everything, and answers my list of questions at every appointment). My husband and I loved seeing Dr Tony so much that we were sad we didnt need to see him anymore after our daughter was born. You won't find a better place to look after you during pregnancy.

I should have written this 2 years ago, after the birth of my baby.
I cannot fault Avonlea Clinic, the front of house staff or Dr Anne Hotchin. My sister had Dr Anne as her OBGYN and, as she’d been unwell recently, everyone would kindly ask after her whenever I was at an appt.
I was pregnant during covid and working in a high risk industry. It was my first pregnancy and largely went without significant issue. I felt well informed by Dr Anne and she was caring and clear with how things were progressing and my options. As I live 2hrs away she gave me a clear plan as term approached and I really cannot fault the entire pregnancy.
When it came to my labour my baby had a little trouble and it was decided that Caesar was needed. This didn’t really bother me, as long as baby and I were safe. The procedure went with issue and baby (and I) were in fantastic condition.
I’m neurotic so gave the SJOG midwives a bit of a tough time wanting baby’s obs checked and monitored (everything was totally fine) and I was up and walking within 12hrs and really feel very positive about the entire experience.
Living so far away it was really reassuring to be able to phone the clinic for weeks after delivery with questions or concerns.

I had to wait 1-1.5hrs to see someone after my appointment time which I know most specialists are late but this was completely ridiculous as they were more than aware I had other appointments to go to as well. I felt like my appointments were rushed and not considered due to specialists lack of organisation. I was completely dismissed in my pain and how I felt. I was told to go and see a hypnotherapist and see a pain psychologist as the pain is more of a mental thing than actual physical pain. I was extremely surprised that Dr Druit would be so dismissive as she was so highly recommended by a few doctors.
