A nursing home in Ashfield which is a wonderful place for our elderly and people with Dementia. People from all walks of life call this place home and the staff here are wonderful and caring.

Sunday the 7th of January, 2024.
The Ashfield Baptist Nursing Home is taking care of Clara my mother since 2021. It seems to be clean, well staffed and well run. My Mother’s care seems to be a little expensive, but I suppose that they are expected to perform a-lot of personal duties for those in their care. Feeding them, laundry, medicating them, monitoring their health and managing their other residential care requirements is something I could not personally do at home for my Mother and so I am glad that there is an organisation like the Ashfield Baptist Nursing Home that specialises in assisting the elderly. My Mother seems quite happy at ABH but I miss her a great deal at home and I worry about her being lonely and isolated. The staff seem well trained however they have lost my Mother’s denture on two seperate occasions, which has cost us $2000 twice to replace, and the in house denture service does not provide a very well fitting denture, because my Mother complains of discomfort while eating. The Ashfield Baptist Nursing Home is quite close to where I live, so at least that is an advantage, because I do like to visit my Mother frequently to make sure she is doing well Health-wise and she does not require anything special. Sometimes parking is difficult at the nursing home, so I try to visit her later in the day. I know she will, in all likelihood, die in care , but I would like her to live for as long and as comfortably as possible. I wish I could have done more for her at home but that was not something I could manage by myself. I just hope she will not experience any pain or discomfort and that she will be relatively content and well treated for her remaining years.

Uplifting environment the moment you enter. Its multipurpose use of the pool with small kids swim classes really adds to the energy. Most importantly for me was an act of kindness and generosity that helped a very time sensitive situation and really left me in a little disbelief at the care and support they showed.
The quality and their philosophy of care was just what my mother needed. Six months since being there and my gratitude remains undiminished.
