Dr Hamish Gawne is our family doctor here in Ascot. Very thorough, listens and understands our concerns, gives excellent and proper medical advice, and further medical test necessary as required. Excellent Doctor supported by Kind and Friendly Reception Team. Highly Recommend. Cheers.

DR Ben Powell principle doctor (?) of this medical center without consent or consultation with me ceased provision of a drug I have used for 40 years for insomnia leading me into a situation of there being confronted with the very real possibility of a seizure I could have hade a Gran Mal seizure or Peti Mal seizure. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED ME. This matter is now in the hands of the authority's interpretation and from that point we go to court. Stay tuned as all the finding and conclusions and action taken will be placed here, for the purpose of community awareness of the real dynamics of Ascot Medical Centre.

Doctor Ben Powell and his father have looked after myself and my family for years. Even after a long time between visits and myself moving rural for work, Dr Powell still goes out of his way to care for me, where as many other doctors I've seen in between have just been a churn-and-burn to get more numbers. Front desk very unhelpful on the phone today. Receptionist (sounded like an older lady) was impatient, dismissive, and curt bordering on hostile.

I take negative reviews like this with a grain of salt, as I know that customers can be demanding, entitled, and rude. In customer service, the public can grind you down.

But I was polite to a fault, and the receptionist's manner was completely uncalled for.

Judging from previous reviews, I'm not the first to have had such an experience here.

I’m a patient at Ascot Medical Centre and am extremely happy with the service and professionalism of all the Drs including Sue the receptionist.
My son’s & husband see Dr Powell who is professional, kind & efficient, He always has time for them no matter how busy. In one situation he was fully booked & we had a serious incident occur & he was kind enough to see us after his last patient of the day.
I see Dr Mary Jane and have found her to be kind & caring . She always listens and I have never felt rushed out. She offers her full attention & time.
I’m surprised by some comments I have read.
GP’s work extremely hard & long hrs, they deserve to be paid for their time. In my opinion they have been forced to reduce appointment times to be financially viable.

I rang the surgery to book an appointment and Sue was super efficient. She provided me with information and guided me through the appointments that were available. She was kind and helpful. Keep it up Sue.
I had to ring the surgery back and this time Alecia answered the phone. She listened to my query and explained in detail. She was super helpful. It is an amazing experience when you have people that truly care and go above and beyond. Great job Alecia.

Extremely rude receptionist and female GP.
I was running 5 mins late and gave them a curtesy call to advise this with 15 mins notice. The receptionist was very rude to me on the phone. I asked if I should reschedule, she said I should still come.
Upon arrival (which was literally 5 minutes late) I completed the forms and sat waiting for the doctor for 10 additional minutes. I was confused given I had the impression the doctor was on time from the receptionist.
When the GP did come out she saw I was there but instead deliberately took the patient who was meant to be after me for their appointment.
This meant I not only had to wait the remaining time of my original appointment (10 minutes), but then a further 20 or so minutes for the patient who's appointment started after mine.
When I asked reception, they confirmed this had happened. They also confirmed if the GP is late I would need to wait for whenever they are available and they don't make calls to forewarn patients if the doctor is late.
The whole experience was petty and rude. Will never be going back to this clinic and I wouldn't recommend them.

First time reviewing, thought it was warranted considering the poor quality of service, and wanted to share my opinion in the hopes it may help other consumers in making decisions on where to seek medical help. I found the manner of reception staff incompatible to what I consider to be effective patient communication. To ensure that I never make the mistake of booking an appointment at this practice again, I’ve saved their phone number in my address book as ‘do not use’, to ensure I never make the mistake of going here again.
