I am appalled by the service at this centre.
Dr Muller is extremely judgmental and I felt put down with my ADHD diagnosis.

I am not one to write reviews; but I am disgusted.
All just a search for money here.

Office does not return calls, nor open within hours.
I was receiving no follow ups regarding my diagnosis; which I followed up multiple times.
No care. Not on.

I first went to Ascent Psychiatry in 2020 while I was very unwell with my mental health. Dr Williams admitted me to a private mental health specialty ward, so that he could work with me, gradually adjusting medications and doses to get the combination just right. He also organised for me to have TMS, which made a big difference. I’ve now being going to Ascent Psychiatry for over 5 years and have had consistent support and guidance from Dr Williams. He’s compassionate, positive and extremely knowledgeable in all areas of mental health. Dr Williams is observant and adaptable, always making adjustments according to my progress. He keeps up with any advancements made in the understanding of mental health and is often creative in his approaches. My husband and I can’t imagine how we would have gotten through such an awful time in our lives without Ascent Psychiatry. I’m so grateful that Dr Williams’ long-term care has given our kids their mummy back.

I would highly recommend the team at Ascent Psychiatry! When deciding to go through the process of being diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s, I rang several psychiatrists on the Gold Coast however Ascent Psychiatry stood out to me as their team took the time to answer all of my questions before I was even a patient. They made the process incredibly easy and provided me with all the information required regarding treatment options but never pushed me into anything I wasn't comfortable with. Ascent Psychiatry were incredibly accommodating when I needed to change appointments due to family commitments or even bring my children with me if needed. If you are looking to get diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, Ascent Psychiatry are definitely your go to!

Dr Muller is a very kind and intelligent man who has been helping me for around five years now. I have nothing but high praise for him as he is a very talented and professional individual in his field of work. I feel like I’ve become a much better and stronger person since I first started attending my appointments, and I’m very thankful for the amazing work Dr Muller has done 🙂

The whole team at Ascent Psychiatry are very friendly. I miss Rhianna, but the new front desk lady is very nice as well. I haven’t talked to Dr Williams a lot, but he seems like a very friendly gentleman just like Dr Muller. The services are a bit pricy, but I blame that more so on the lack of government support for mental health as a whole.

Overall, 10/10. I definitely would not be the same person today if I hadn’t been treated here and I think I’m definitely a better and happier person because of it 🙂

I cannot recommend Ascent Psychiatry highly enough. From the moment I entered their clinic, I felt genuinely welcomed and supported, starting with Ngaio, the friendly and attentive receptionist. Her warm smile and willingness to chat, regardless of how busy her day might be, immediately put me at ease. Her background in mental health training ensures that even before meeting with the psychiatrists, you’re already in compassionate, understanding hands.

For my initial diagnosis assessment, I consulted with Dr Muller and then Dr. Williams for a second opinion. Dr Williams approach was thorough and highly knowledgeable, yet his warm and approachable demeanor made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel much more manageable. His office, thoughtfully arranged, fosters a relaxed and open atmosphere, encouraging trust and candid conversation.

Dr. Muller, my primary psychiatrist, has been nothing short of remarkable. His ability to listen attentively, ask insightful questions, and provide carefully considered treatment options has made a profound difference in my current journey. His patience, kindness, and clear passion for his career ensure that I always feel truly heard and understood; not just another patient, but an individual deserving of genuine care. Both Dr Muller and Dr. Williams foster an environment that blends professionalism with approachability!

The clinic as a whole exudes calmness, and the entire team works cohesively to create a space where patients feel supported throughout their journey. The waiting room in reception is beautiful and has soft and peaceful music playing while you await. I was able to secure an appointment quickly during a tough time, and their prompt attention made all the difference.
My decision to seek out Ascent Psychiatry has transformed my life, and I am confident they can do the same for many others. If you are considering seeking help, I wholeheartedly encourage you to get a referral. 😊❤️

Dr Muller and Dr Williams are just fantastic, funny and factual in their approach to treatment.

Every interaction is just so good!

The atmosphere is welcoming. The receptionist (Ngaio) is so personable and happy, so funny and honest. She can really relate to the mums out there and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed.

I leave there feeling so confident in my decision to choose this practice to get a diagnosis.

Do not let any bad reviews of this place fool you. These specialists are upfront and honest about the costs involved, how the treatment process will go, they will also let you know if they are away or are going to be away and try their best to accommodate such time restrictions to help you get your diagnosis as soon as possible. Bear in mind that you as the patient have to make sure you provide the doctors with ALL of the details they require in order to book you in. That ball is in your court not theirs. Also bear in mind that you need to go through the steps and how fast that happens is also up to you, not them.

IF they don’t deem it necessary for you to continue with them, that is their PROFESSIONAL opinion and they wouldn’t come to it lightly. They would carefully consider EVERY decision they make regarding patient care and inform the patient accordingly.

Dr Muller has been a great help, would highly recommend to anyone seeking assistance. After trial and error with many professionals, finding this practice was a blessing. Dr Muller is an excellent listener who uses his extensive knowledge to help accordingly. The receptionist niaoh is always lovely and kind. Choosing this practice means you’re in good hands.

Unfortunately this was once a very good small practice in it's early years, but this "boutique" practice has become too elite for some of their past clients. In my own experience, Dr Muller was excellent and genuinely caring in treating one of my relatives, however I cannot give the same feedback on Dr Williams. I think the dollars became more important than the clients some years back. Dumping your good long term clients without explanation just because you wanted to increase their fees by over double the amount, reflects an insincere ethos and poor character. Find somewhere else if you want real help at an affordable price.
