We would like to share our experiences about Maria who helps look after our Mother with dementia. What a compassionate, caring lady she is. She goes above and beyond to ask us what our mother requires and what can they do to make her more comfortable? She is always willing to listen to us. Such a caring beautiful soul you are Maria thank you it doesn’t go unnoticed.

My mum has been at AL for some time now and originally stayed for respite. Mum is at End of Life now and every time I have visited my mother I have always found evidence of good care. I have found staff to be very friendly and very focused when attending to my mother. It is always clean and tidy and emails with updates have always been given to me about COVID or any other important information. I am aware that Nursing homes need more staff but I have never felt my mothers care has suffered. I have seen the meals and even fed my mother and I have been very impressed. I cannot really fault Algester Lodge or Bundaleer Lodge where mum had been for about 5 years or so. It is not easy to manage residence including my mother, but to be honest, I haven't had many major concerns in all of these years and I am not easily satisfied. I definitely recommend Algester lodge if you are looking for good care for your loved one. I have read some 1 star reviews and shrug my shoulders, I am not sure about their experience so I can only write about mine and I am very happy I have chosen both nursing homes to take care of my mother especially now that she has sadly reached "End of Life" stage. Thank you to all the staff from both lodges, I appreciate the care you have given my mum,

I had to book my husband in for emergency respite because of carer burn out, with very limited notice. My husband had always refused respite, with fears of abandonment so he had never been placed before and I had cared solely for him for 15yrs.
The staff were absolutely wonderful and caring. The facilities and meals were faultless! This now means my husband is now no longer resistant of respite, and for the fist time in years, we can have regular breaks and he knows he will be loved and cared for.

Was looking for a place for my Mum. Contacted Algester Lodge to book a tour. Spoke to a nice girl who said the lady was away sick. That was over a month ago and still no response. Even sent another email and no response.

Our family's experience with this nursing home was very distressing. They seem to have all care and concern when the family is visiting but during her stay with this facility my mother had to be admitted twice to hospital due to malnourishment and dehydration. This was due to my mothers' inability to feed herself and the very few staff members who were mostly casual, or training and had no time to sit with her and physically feed her and administer oral fluids despite the management being aware of her situation. When confronted with this information, the manager was aggressive and hostile. We were left with no other recourse but to remove her to another facility which thankfully was much more caring. Beware of this nursing home - I have since spoken with a nurse who was employed there and she confirmed what we suspected - Algester Lodge is all about the money .

The decision to move my mother into Algester Lodge was made easier by the caring staff.. my mother settled in very quickly and receives top quality care.. all her needs are met , the rooms are a great size . She has a full size dressing table. 2 bedside tables.. bookshelf ..fridge and a display cabinet with her nick nacks in it and a tv.. the meals are great , my wife and I often have sunday lunch with her... i have no hesitation reccomending Algester Lodge to my friends when they talk of care facilities... of course there have been small problems but they were sorted quickly ... 9.5 out of 10 to the facility they have had an upgrade of furnishings and the gardens .. including the gardner planting my fathers rose bush outside mums window so mum can see it every day..

We have always found the facilities at Algester Lodge and their care of Win, our mother/mother-in-law, to be excellent. The staff are very warm and helpful not only to Win but also to our ourselves when we visit. However when we went there last week for Win's 100th birthday, we were completely blown away by the effort they put into. celebrating the occasion. Thank you Algester Lodge staff. We cannot praise your efforts enough.
